OK... I'm with Shiv in regards to Hicks' ridiculous "Soul Patrol!!!" mentions. He's like an autistic kid where the phrase "soul patrol" actually means "hungry" or "bathroom".

I heard Katherine singing from the next room over last week while my parents were watching American Idol and I kept wondering who the stupid bitch gurgling into the microphone was.

I think of the three Elliott has the best voice. However, I don't think he has the presence to make it to the finals, let alone be the actual idol. I think that if it is between Taylor and Katherine that Katherine will win on looks alone.

My dad said tonight, "man, she's got a nice voice". To which I replied, "she's got a nice a lot of things". woot woot.

I've been one of Elliott's biggest supporters on this board, but unfortunately, he's not going to make it to the finals. I thought he performances last night were good but not great, like the week before.

am i alone in thinking her version of "over the rainbow" was not only boring, but unaffected? this is why the show is fixed: all three judges went gonzo for her performance, saying this is the "moment" they'd been waiting for. prolly because they were looking at her boobs.

or the only ounce of affection simon's gotten in this lifetime was when his drunk mother sang him "over the rainbow" once as a kid and he gets all misty-eyed whenever he hears it.

I don't really think she'll win. She's been on the bubble a couple of times whereas grandpaboy hasn't even come close. I do think they want her in the final though because in no way was that "the performance of the season".

come on now - all american idol winners/runners up have been worthless in the music industry in terms of real talent. so who cares - i would rather have some pretty girl that i see on tv all the time then watch elliot or taylor.

i didn't see it, but i hear taylor's last performance had a terrible ending. i liked his "dancing in the dark" boss moment though. he's the man, he's a ham.

By american idol standards, it was probably too over the top, but it was actually pretty entertaining.

This is funny. I have only watched this for the last 3 weeks and I have been completely sucked in. I just had an argument with a co-worker about how I didn't really like Elliot or his voice and she just went off on me. He doesn't have the Idol looks which everyone knows is important.

I think Katherine is going to win. She's hot and has a great voice. I thought "Over the Rainbow" was great. She's got a great voice IMO.

Also, having a nice rack never hurt any woman in show biz. Ever.

I think, in terms of puppeteering, that being voted off fifth, fourth, or third to last is actually better in terms of doing something worthwhile in music than being in the finals. Although it may not be a great band, isn't Fuel taking on Chris Daughtry? That dude has GOT to be stoked about that. If I was a fan and they asked me to be a part of the band because of my involvement with American Idol, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If Explosions in the Sky saw me on some commercial t.v. show and thought my guitar playing was what they were looking for and offered me a job, I would not hesitate to take it.

About no one doing anything worthwhile post-american idol. I don't know that that really is true. Although it may not be the music I or any of us really like, Carrie Underwood AND Kelly Clarkson have pretty good albums in terms of sales and fan base and such. If you're on a commercial t.v. show like this, you won't move on to indie artist status. But, you will sell some records and most likely work with some specatcular songwriters and producers.

EDIT: And I don't think anyone could do Somewhere Over the Rainbow good. The song is just plain awful. It is one of the most boring songs ever written, IMO. Whoever sings it will sound unaffected, because the song requires it.

Don't kid yourself. Kelly Clarkson is one of the biggest Pop stars around and has MASSIVE sales. I looked it up, her last album has gone 5 times platinum in the US and 4 times platinum in Canada.

Who knows what it's done internationally.

I was just covering my bases. I know she is ridiculously successful in terms of sales and such. Truth be told, I was covering my ass so as to not be ridiculed too much for claiming that Kelly Clarkson has "good albums"

FACT: Kelly Clarkson has an AMAZING voice. Not for a Pop star. not for a American Idol winner. Period.

FACT: Katherine has a great voice. Her performance of SOTR was AWESOME. She doesn't have the chops that KC has though. But, KC is not in the competition this year.

FACT: Katherine would have been gone a good while ago if not for the boobs. She been getting hotter and hotter as the season has progressed too.

OPINION: Taylor's version of You Are So Beautiful last night was not as good as everyone thought.

THOUGHTS LATELY: Seriously considering trying out for this next season.

clay aiken had decent record sales but abs no radio airplay. fantasia had one hit and then fell off the face of the earth. bo bice is embraced by radio but has incredibly quick burn/fade out. and, ruben who? carrie has a hit record but i couldn't hum you a single bar of one of her songs. because she kinda sucks.

kc will be around for a while. she's a real star. if taylor won, i think he'd be the first AI to be able to win popularity with the older crowd. if catherine wins, well, it would surprise me in the least and i think, as far as star power goes, she'd put me to sleep. she already does.

I think that, although I agree that the Soul Patrol crap is really irritating, I like Taylor because he could actually go into a genre that I personally may enjoy. He is different enough but able to be in a competition like this.

I still think Yamin's voice is the best.

taylor is best when he sings the slower joe cocker-type tunes. he is downright embarassing when he does the uptempo numbers and does his "dancing". and he always looks like he's constipated.

i would love to hear him sing some paul weller/jam tunes.

and i'm sure all of them will disappear never to be heard from again after the finals.

I like the talent of Elliott. But something about the tone of his voice irks me. It's like this Kermit the Frog thing sometimes.

Plus that grill is just bad man. It just is.

I agree about the teeth.

Elliott will lose because of his teeth and Katherine will win because of her rack.
