Did the Jayhawks ever do anything else comparable to "Blue"?

I love this song, but anything else i've heard.... meh. Any suggestions from the obner Jayhawks fanbase?

While I will agree that "Blue" is their best song, period.
Hollywood Town Hall is solid, front-to-back.
Not a bad song on there.

I think all of Hollywood Town Hall is better, but I'm slightly biased.

"Blue" is off of "Tomorrow the Green Grass, right? Well I like that album more than Hollywood Town Hall right now, but I haven't listened to HTH nearly as much as I have TtGG.

I always liked "I'd Run Away" and "Over Your Shoulder" from TTGG. Off of HTH, "Waiting for the Sun" is good (though, as someone noted, does sound a lot like "Mary Jane's Last Dance"). They have a lot of other solid songs but "Blue" is my personal favorite and I think probably their catchiest.

Smile is a terrible album.

I'll take "Bad Time" over anything else, but yeah, Tomorrow the Green Grass is pretty solid. I like this band.

I'll go ahead and agree with everyone that Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow the Green Grass are both really good albums. Jack Morris albums defintely.

Since it completely abandoned what the band had been about up to that time in favor of pop sheen and excess, I tend not to listen to it. But still, it does have some great songs.

Agreed. I don't think it's terrible and it was my introduction to the Jayhawks, so it automatically holds a good, sentimental spot for me.

TTGG and Hollywood Town Hall are the two best obviously, but I dont hate Smile. It definitely created a void when Olson left, mainly in the songwriting, but stilla great band.

TTGG is listmania-worthy, though. Near-perfect album.

Both are Listmania worthy, but smile is kind of like the Bay of Pigs. No one really talks about it, it's a little embarassing.

i love it.
there are some used jayhawks albums at the record store right now. i'll put them on hold like i do with everything else because im broke.

I've always been a big fan of TTGG. But that was my intro to them, so makes sense.

Funny I just heard them on the radio this morning and I was planning on yanking out the albums when I got home from work tonight.

One of those bands that have never put out a bad album. Even Smile is okay, as long as you go into it expecting Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac instead of the Jayhawks.

But they've also never put out a great album. Even Tomorrow The Green Grass, which is arguably better than Hollywood Town Hall, consists of 4 or 5 strong songs surrounded by an equal amount of aimless filler.

A few tracks from 'Rainy Day Music' came on random play through the iPod yesterday, so I put that album on, but it had been a while before that.
