other than your own countries, that is.
This is how my hierarchy goes
number 1: canada
as soon as canada makes the finals, hopefully in 2010 when frank yallop can really whip them into shape, im going. period. i dont care if i have to take out a loan.
number 2: scotland
my dads country. helps that im a huge rangers fan.
number 3 (and the only team that actually made it to the finals): argentina
i dont know what it is about them, but ive always liked them. they always struck me as a more english brazil. a team who could play a mix of the great brazilian style with a mix of the also great old english bully type style.

I really only cheer for the USA, I cheered for Ireland as well in 1994.
I would be rooting for the Czech Republic if they weren't in the Americans group. Hopefully the US can beat them or tie them on Monday and both will beat the Italians to advance.
In Pro league soccer, I've only been a fan of DC United and of the awful Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, since I had several friends in college from there.

and an addendum:

number 4: mexico
mainly because theyre the only decent concacaf team, but also because i used to love jorge campos.

teams i refuse to support:
tied germany and the us
not for any nationalistic reason, just because germany invented the most boring type of football ever created, and the us is heavily influenced by it.

Frank Yallop quit the national team yesterday to take a job with the Los Angeles club in the MLS.

I'm a very casual fan, if Canada is not involved, these are my teams in order....

1. Italy
2. England
3. U.S.A.
4. Holland

In addition to my nationalistic spirit:

-Netherlands
-Ireland
-All of Africa
-Most of S. American teams, except Brazil

Tons of teams I know, but I think that those teams are fielding some amazing teams. One of the African countries are going to be an amazing power someday.

one of my best friends grew up in Brazil and he's pretty much the only pesron who talks to me about soccer, so i root for them so he'll be happy. But for the most part i have a hard time rooting for a winner. It's just not in my philly nature.

Brazil is so good. To root for them in my book is like rooting for the Yankees and being from outside of the Bronx.

Being American and not rooting for us is messed up.

You got that right on the money.

I guess I'd pull for:

England - Because I know my 'bro Dalen pulls for them every Cup.

Trinidad & Tobago

Italy

US is the top one, home country and all that, usually have at least someone on there I've either seen playing as they grow up. Used to see guys I'd played with or against, but now those folks are all retired. I've actually got a bit of a pet peeve about people in the US who like soccer but don't support the US. Go to some other country and find out howe many people support a national team other then their own. Have some pride. And, I'm not even in the least bit patriotic about anything else. Odd.

Before we used to qualify for the cup, I always supported Germany, for a few reasons. First, my family and most of the people I grew up around and started playing soccer with were of German heritage. Then, back in those days, the only soccer you could watch on TV was a show called Soccer Made in Germany, an hour long Bundesliga show, back when the Germans really were a great soccer nation, stars like Beckenbauer, Mueller, and the rest. They just always had great teams in those days, challenging Brazil for world domination.

After that, I just like whoever is playing good soccer.
