So, this was an okay pilot, but it tried to be WAY too cool with the medical abbreviations that even ER wont use. I found this hipster scene to be a little funny.

Black guy: Whats up with you playing Hendrix. You always play the living guys and I play the dead ones.

White guy: The drummer's alive.

Black guy: Oh, was the band called 'The Mitch Mitchell Experience'?



Now this is great. I mean, how many 30-year olds (or any-year olds, for that matter) know who the drummer of the JHE was? I thought I was cool for knowing it.

My wife and I (for the most part) liked it, except that whole "life flashing before the eyes" gag got old after the first couple of times. Also, the angle with him being unable to live up to the legendary medical reputation of his parent, and compensating with a fuck-it-all attitude seems REALLY cribbed from Gray's Anatomy. Still, we'll keep watching.

The Closer is MUCH better.
