Well, Bob Dylan is releasing his first album in five years and I'm looking forward to it. The last two albums he released, "Time Out of Mind" and "Love and Theft" were both great imo. They didn't waste much time getting this record ready, I remember it being recorded earlier this year, but that's good, less time to wait.

Bob Dylan will break a five-year hiatus from the studio later this summer with his 44th album. Due Aug. 29 via Columbia, the 10-track "Modern Times" was recorded earlier this year with Dylan's touring band.

It's the follow-up to 2001's "Love and Theft," the No. 5 debut of which was Dylan's best showing on The Billboard 200 since 1979's "Slow Train Coming." The set has sold more than 757,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Modern Times" includes such tracks as "When The Deal Goes Down," "Spirit on the Water," "Thunder on the Mountain" and "Workingman's Blues," according to Columbia.

Dylan, who recently began hosting his own "Theme Time Radio Hour" on XM Satellite Radio, is not currently on the road, having wrapped a six-week North American tour last month in Hollywood, Fla.

In other Dylan news, Martin Scorsese's 2005 documentary "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan" won the grand prize and the arts documentary prize last night (June 12) at the 27th Banff Rockie Awards in Banff, Alberta.

44th album? I guess that could be right, but it's gotta include compilations.

I didn't like Time Out Of Mind much, but thought Love And Theft was a solid reckid - I'll be curious about this one. It seems like it's getting to be that time on the ol' Dylan clock for a total curveball.

Now if I only don't have to look at Him...

I am a huge Dylan fan... and I thought Time Out of Mind was a great Dylan album, in His top ten... Love and Theft was ok.

I feel the same way. I actually dislike his "new" voice about the same as most dislike the "old" one.

That said, I am sure I will be picking this up.

I've always said Time Out Of Mind sounds like one of Brian Eno's ambient albums as mewled by a goat.

Edit: except the goat would've come up with better lyrics.

Well someone should god-dammit

'Not Dark Yet' from T.O.O.M. is an outstanding track both musically & lyrically and proves why the old man's still got it.

This is one of his greatest songs...."it ain't dark yet but it's getting there..."

Radcliffe has now officially gone on the Obner Mental List.

I think (but I'm not sure) I may have heard a song off of this on XM this morning.

You would know by the blood coming out of you ears, and/or the fact that you are back in the Fairburn Police Station ;)

With the release date a little over two months away, this thing has got to be leaking soon. FACK, I hope so.
