Are you doling out specific stuff to a specific person (Aunt BettyJo gets the Lloyd's receiver/tt combo, Bob gets the Emerson 8-Track, etc)? And what about the CDs? The only thing I can come up with is have everyone mentioned in the will to come over & let them take turns picking from the collection. This may take a while, but might be kind of fun if a BBQ were happening at the same time w/ plenty of beer.

Any ideas? I know most of you are younger than I, so you may not have thought about a will, but...

if i ever have kids, then they'll get the music.

if i died tomorrow, i would expect my roommate to keep my collection. no one in my family would want it.

You don't have any friends who like the same music as you?

I haven't bequeathed my music to anyone in particular. My family can do what they want with the stuff. Even if someone doesn't like the music, I'm sure someone would like the money from selling the stereo equipment and LPs and CDs I have, though.

Wife and I did a will last year and we're both in our 30's with 2 kids. I totally agree with having a will when you're youngish to have your shit in order...

As for the music, which is actually an asset and insured, it will go to my kids, but if all 4 of us die in a fiery crash, I have it going to a friend who will appreciate it.

Hell, if the Terri Shavio thing didn't motivate you to think about a will, I don't know what to tell ya. Wills aren't just for old people.

Well said.

If I die, there will be much bigger fish to fry than CD's.

Incidentally, after recently attending a funeral for a person my age (31), I've decided that I want to be cremated and will be changing my will soon to reflect this.

All I want is to make sure they can't just throw them away. I would prefer that they actually fight over my crap, but if they don't want it, I hope they sell it to someone that does.
As of now, I'd say my stuff is only valuable to myself, but if it ever gets to the point that I get it appraised and it is worth something, then I might actually waste the time to include it in a will.

Maybe, but I look at it like this could be a year of college for one of my kids (or maybe two), so it's something I should consider.

So you have a living will? That's some serious planning. I'm still working out the details of a last will and testament.

As the significant part of my assets they will be ceased by administrators and sold to pay my earthly debts.

Maybe even before I die!

The kidz get whatever they want, the rest gets sold with the proceeds going to the purchase of tequila and rock salt for plowing into the grave site.

If I died today, my sister would probably take what she wanted. Then my aunt. Then the rest would most likely be sold off.
