I can still watch any Adam Sandler film and laugh. Even the Austin Powers movies.

But I don't think I've ever had even a passing interest in stopping on DB:MG when channel surfing.

Little Nicky is nowhere close to Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, or even Mr. Deeds Goes To Town. And his voice gets so annoying after about two scenes.

But there are moments.

"click" is getting shockingly good reviews from near-reputable sources.

Even though the premise of this film was done by Benny Hill in at least 10 skits 30 years ago, I will rent this on DVD for the sake of Beckinsale/Walken.

I watched Punch Drunk Love again last week. Outstanding.

I just saw this a few months ago for the first time. Beautiful movie.

Adam Sandler was on Jeopardy earlier this week (category: "Adam Sandler", of course) and when he used his stupid Waterboy voice, I wanted to punch the television. I think he's funniest when he's not using stupid voices.

Punch-Drunk Love and Spanglish are great films, period. Let alone the fact that Adam Sandler stars.

When he went back to movies like The Longest Yard and 50 First Dates, I was so disappointed. I thought he was taking a Bill Murray-esque turn for quality.

Postscript:

Sandler's apparently starring in a 9/11 drama with Don Cheadle, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Liv Tyler.

That's... interesting?

Well, "good". Maybe not great, but miles above Waterboy or Big Daddy.

Is there any other kind of gigolo? I never understood that title.

I cannot believe that even Sandler enjoys the man-child movies he churns out.

Maybe not. But he sure as shit loves the $20M or so he gets per picture these days. Douchebag or no, his comedies are a lock for a $25-$30M+ opening every time, followed by heavy DVD action.

In this case, I don't blame the drug dealer near as much as those who consume the drugs.

Thanks in advance to everyone for resisting the temptation to start a "Rick Schoeder..." parody thread.
