Which one should I take my man to see tonight for our date?
(I'm hoping we'll hold hands, but I don't want to be too presumptuous)

- An Inconvenient Truth

- Art School Confidential

- Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man

- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

- Superman Returns

Although Ive heard it is disappointing...the first one was so good, and a potentially great date movie.

Yeah, I really liked the first one, even though it was a "kiddie" movie. Technically any movie is a good date movie for us... but it is fun to go to a proper date movie now and then... kind blockbustery and sugary...

Is Superman any good? I'd go just to see Parker Posey.

if you could find a way to roll all those movies into one, that would be kind of awesome.
and totally stupid.

'capt jack sparrow and superman are schoolmates at an art school, when they learn of a map to buried treasure. ever the adventurous types, they strike out together in search of the booty, but are sidetracked when a melting kryptonite-infused arctic glacier capsizes their boat and renders superman helpless.
cameo by lenoard cohen as the singing glacier.'

Pirates.
You'll drool over Johnny Depp.
He'll drool over Kiera Knightley.

And then you'll gaze into each other's eyes and drool over each other.

the perfect date movie!

Heh heh.
Actually, I'll probably drool over Depp, Bloom AND Knightley.

(We kind of already drool all over eachother, to be honest )

There could be trouble if I introduce you to my wife. She's one of those Normal Bananas, too.

ASC and Pirates are the only two on that list I've had any desire to see and I probably won't bother to see Caribbean until it's on dvd.

Art School was good, but not great though.

Equal parts Holly Marie Combs, Kate Bush and Lynda Carter. And she'd be the first to tell you that's not true.

Yes, it sounds quite romantic to me.

Up there with "The Squid and the Whale", "Why We Fight", "Munich" and "Dogville".

Holly Marie Combs

She's wicked. I have a friend who I used to work with who really really reminds me of her; looks, personality, etc.

edit: Holy shit. Okay... this is soooo cheesy of me but... I was going to put something about how my friend is actually born on the same day as me (Dec 7, but 5 years earlier than me)... and then I was thinking about how Holly Marie Combs is SUCH a Saggitarius... so I looked it up and.. DAMN, her birthday is December 3rd. Astrology freaks me out sometimes---it shouldn't work but sometimes it just does.

I once took a date to go see Requiem For a Dream...that wasn't a very good idea
