Yeah,
I'm calling for Favre to have a Swan song season before he retires. It's my ludicrous pick, every one has to make one.

by the way, my three reasons that the Falcs win it all:

1. Lawyer Milloy
2. John Abraham
3. Ed Hartwell (back from injury)

Baltimore seems like a bold pick, but I also picked Miami to win it all, so that isn't much more of a solid pick.

I just think Saban has what it takes to win it all, and I think Culpepper will shine this year. I forgot that Baltimore picked up Steve McNair, so hopefully he can help out their enemic offense.

How's Palmer coming along? It doesn't look like the Bengals have anyone reliable to back him up unless they recently brought someone in.

I have heard Palmer is near 100% already, but they are being cautious because he is Carson Palmer, and the entire roster has been assembled around him.

I just think that defense is still among the scariest and they now have the ability to at least score points. I think the AFC is still tops, but the Steelers and Bengals have major uncertainty at QB due to injuries, lost Bettis and Randle-El, plus the Bengals ever growing lsit of convicts.

Indy & New England are still right there, but NE has changed a lot and I think Indy has to feel like last year was their year to get there & win it.

Miami could go either way- Culpepper could be an all-pro, but hasn't played in a long time and will not be as mobile as he once was.

Denver stood pat (nothing wrong there), San Diego downgraded at QB.

Baltimore seems to be the only team that made a major upgrade.

I think Denver has got San Diego's schedule from last year. They have to go to New England & host Indy. Two games the Chargers don't have this season. It seems to me the schedules have an enormous impact on who wins that division the last 3 seasons.

the miami hype machine has me real nervous. the pieces are in place, but i have to admit to believing they will be hard pressed to gel together this quickly. way too many new players this year.

plus, whenever they get any sort of pre-season hype, it always ends in disappointment. i'd like to have one more season under the radar.

I haven't had too much time or wherewithal to pay as much attention as I would like, but me and SD had a long convo about the ESPN/FSN double blow job/taint licking action going on for Delhomme and Steve Smith.

We also agreed that any team whom you cannot call the name of their running back off the top of your head isn't that good.

Bold call on the Falcs. I would say you are daft for picking the Cowboys, but for the fact that the East has colectively STB, and I guess FAAAAATUNA et al 'deserve' to be considered.

Falcons open at Carolina. Should be the game of the week for the first week. Atlanta is much improved on defense and the passing game should be improved as well with the emergence of Roddy White.

I think we make the playoffs but get beat in the 2nd round.

The Bears are over-rated IMO. They benefit from being in a HORRIBLE division. They make the playoffs with a 9-7 record, maybe 8-8, and get beat in the first round.

Sorry Chicago Obs.

The NFC North got a lot of flack last year for being the worst division, but by the end of the year there were clearly other divisions that were worse, and had worse winning %. Granted, the North might be worse than it was last year being that 3/4 teams are switching coaching regimes.

Have you looked at the Bears schedule? There's no way they will be worse than 10-6. If they are, I'll eat my laptop.
