Beggars Banquet have announced that Songbook The Singles Volume One will get a US release on January 25 on CD and DVD. The Super Furry Animals release on DVD will feature all of the band’s videos, as well as a previously unseen 40 minute on the road documentary about SFA, American Sasquatch. The limited edition CD and vinyl versions feature exclusive pop-up artwork.

The fifth CD in the Under the Influence series will feature tracks that have influenced the five musicians of SFA. The Compilation will be released by DMC Records on January 31st. Xfm writes, “All in all, this is what would happen if the Furrys broke into your house armed with automatic weapons and a box of records, and proceeded to hold your hi-fi system hostage.”

Empyrean Records will be releasing a version of the Ffa Coffi Pawb Am Byth in the US on March 1st. The album is a compilation of recording by the band Gruff and Daf were in prior to the formation of SFA. The US version has a bonus track, alternative artwork, and it comes with English translations, lyrics, and notes on each song from Gruff Rhys.

Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys has completed his first solo album and is readying it for North American release. The Welsh-language "Yr Atal Genhedlaeth" will arrive March 8 via Rough Trade America. The album, whose title is roughly translated as "The Stuttering Generation," was recorded in Wales with longtime Super Furries producer Gorwel Owen.

New Super Furry Animals due out in Spring 2005.

My favorite band of the last 10 years and it doesn’t look like anyone else will even have a chance to dethrone them. Life is good!
