He has successfully hit in 32 straight games and is chasing Jolting Joe Dimaggio's record.

Sometimes, music geeks are other kinds of geek, too. To that end, my rotisserie baseball team is on the verge of taking money for the first time in thirteen years of playing, and Utley is the primary mover in taking my team to the money. Y' dig?

Which makes Jolt's streak that much more impressive. Ut's half-way there, a little more than half-way, but he's still a month from surpassing. That's a lot of baseball.

Yeah he is still chasing Jimmy Rollins for the team record. Only six to tie and 7 for the record

Here's a list of the longest streaks. He's currently 23rd on the list (if I counted correctly), though every number between now and 36 has multiple people, so he has the opportunity to move up quickly.

Jeff Weaver, Jorge Sosa, and "new guy" (something Reyes), you're dead to me. DEAD.

redact: Utley's streak remains alive. Infield (?) strike in eighth ruled hit, changed to fielder's choice (though no out was made on the play), and reverted to hit. Those New Busch Stadium scorekeepers, playing fast-and-loose with the Man, the Legend, Utley.

Fuckers.

Weaver, et. al., are still dead to me.

And, another single. Soft liner to center, e.g. a "legitimate" hit. Yes.

Now, eat it, Yanks fans. Your boy, Joe D, is going down. (And as I say that, I'm pissing into a mug of Mr. Coffee brand drip coffe.)
