heath ledger?! oy. he did good in bareback, but i was hoping for someone a little more adept at playing unhinged characters.

anyway, here's a link: http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Movies/08/01/film.ledger.reut/index.html

still looking forward to it though.

What's is George's dad in amgl's avatar doing with a guy in a cape? It's too hot for it to be cape weather.

I can imagine Jack Nicholson would make a great Joker.

He'd make an interesting Riddler. If there could be such a thing as an interesting Riddler.

He probably would've been good as The Scarecrow too, though Cillian Murphy was pretty fucking creepy.

I believe it was between Heath, Brody and Paul Bettany (sp?) who with the right makeup would've been horrendously creepy. I don't follow the whole "getting someone close to Batman's age" thing. I mean, are they following a rough outline that the Joker (pre Joker) killed Bruce Wayne's parents? Was that even in the comics? Perhaps in a reimagination phase at DC. Was that Burton's idea? Great idea if so.

I see Ledger as a pretty good choice. Batman Begins was probably my favorite Batman movie out of all of 'em, and I'm really looking forward to the next one. I love Christian Bale in everything, especially Batman.

I want to see Batman vs. Daredevil.

The battle of ordinary guys with some martial arts training who work mostly at night protecting the city from criminals and thieves because of the fact that their father was murdered in front of them by criminals when they were young.

And the sequel where they start to develop the hots for one of their female enemies.

Daredevil is ordinary? I thought Murdock was exposed to radiation, blinding him but also heightening his other senses beyond human capacity... and adding that whole radar sense thingy. A bit more ordinary than most superheroes, sure, but Tony Stark would be a lot closer to Batman on that scale IMHO.

Would be a cool film, though.

EDIT: Would have loved to see Brody as the Joker.

I think it's another origin that's been changed and rewritten throughout time.

Okay yeah, according to his Marvel bio, his other senses were heightened because of being doused in radioactive goo.

Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne are much closer in terms of characters, Daredevil and Batman just are similar once they put on their costumes.

There used to be a website where you could read scans of classic comics, but it was shut down. Thanks to that site, I read Daredevil #1 from the '60s and the origin presented there is the same as what alongwaltz just stated, so I don't think it's been changed (or if it has, it's been changed back).

I don't see how that could possibly work. The 1989 Batman had Joker's origin and death.

I'm not really that excited for this film. I'm sure I'll see it, but I wasn't too impressed with Batman Begins. The origin stuff was cool, but once he became Batman and was back in Gotham City, it was pretty dumb.

i hope you just mean the movie.

daredevil's origin
Quote:
While walking down a street one day, Matt noticed a blind man was about to get hit by a truck. He ran in front of the truck, and pushed the blind man out of the way. However, the truck was carrying radioactive waste, and some spilled out directly onto Matt's eyes. Matt couldn't see anymore.

Matt's remaining senses became heightened, and he was able to 'see' using a 'radar' sense, that showed outlines and shapes. His hearing became so acute that he could hear heartbeats. He could smell the faintest odor in a room. He could touch a newspaper to 'read' it.

After the accident, a mysterious blind man named Stick offered to help the boy develop his new found powers, and train him in martial arts.
