I've spent most of this summer swatting flies with the flick of a damp towel.

One of my cats spent three days off and on hunting a fly in our apt.

He conquered it this morning. I'm still grossed out that he ate it.

The little guy was very proud of himself though since that's the first bug I think we've ever had in here.

Either you have a really good exterminator, or you need to come get some of the South.

I live on the 21st floor of a high rise. Bugs are scarce up in rhese parts.

In my college apartment we had a fly one summer that was massive and noisy but after a couple vain attempts to kill him we gave up, named him Lamar and adopted him as our mascot.

It was like he had a personality. One of the roommates would be eating, Lamar would buzz his plate and get half-hearted swat and a stern, "Goddammit, not now Lamar. I'm eating!" At which time Lamar would retreat to a reasonable distance and settle in for some evening television.

He hung around for three days and also served as a de facto alarm clock (sonofabitch was LOUD) before flying out while I was on my way to the laundry.

A good chap, that Lamar.
