I had a meeting with my boss yesterday who secretly informed me she is being promoted to Vice President status next month. Awesome news for her -- she completely deserves the promotion! She went on to say..."you know, Tania, once this promotion goes through, you realize that you're next". :shock: (Really?!) "I've already put the bug in the President's ear that I want to promote you to Business Development Manager, responsible for BD and Marketing." :rawk: (Fuck yeah!) "So, take the time over the weekend to decide which responsibilties you wish to oversee cuz I've already set this into motion."

This is exactly what I've been striving for when I took on this job. :sigh:

If you recall, about a year ago, the position had been given to one of the sales schmucks who was a complete loser. It pissed me off that I had to be the one to train my own manager!!! Especially when I was quite capable of handling the position on my own. But, unfortunately, my boss' suggestion of promoting me was overridden by the executives. Whatever...fast forward to the present, the position will soon be rightfully mine and that's what matters! All the more reason to do plenty of this over the weekend -- :drink: :drink: :drink:

UPDATE

Just received an early Christmas present -- I'VE BEEN PROMOTED!! As of January 1st, I'm the Business Development Supervisor (not 'manager'...whatever, I'm cool with it) overseeing all the functions of my department. I'm completely stoked!

The yuletide festivities can officially commence. :drink:
