When the last straw on the camel's back is broken...when you've come up to that impassable wall...when lack of sleep affects your thought process. I hate to say it, but as of today, after so many problems encountered at work...my spirit has been officially broken.

I'm done. Spent. That's it.

The End.

I prefer to think of it as a "drinking point." It's set dangerously low.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time.

Sorry to hear that Tania.

My first reaction would be to ask if you are able to take some time off from work. And of course, my gut feeling is that your response would be No. ;)

Maybe try to get out of the office for a bit, even if it's just an hour. Go out to lunch on your own. Go see a movie. Go get a massage. Just try and spend some time away from the locales that are causing stress in your life currently.

That was me before I went on vacation. You need to take some time off love.

And you need a ROCKIN' show to get your mind off things & release! Arcade Fire on Sunday, darling! It's your birthday!

I'm looking towards becoming an alcoholic. If I become permanently drunk, I won't have to suffer a hangover, right?

Maybe I should go back to doing drugs? Though, I don't much like being perma-stoned. Hallucinogens may be the key. I won't have to live in this reality, I'll just create another.

I so wish I could go on a holiday. And you're right, Dana, the answer is 'no'. I bowed out of a client meeting today just because I have so many fires to douse in the office -- sent the trainees in my place. Leave the office? You can't imagine the number of phone calls I get, not to mention, how many times I get to listen to my name paged over the intercom.

Ya know, I'm not one of those women who cries at the drop of the hat when pressure is on. But, geez, this week is one of those weeks where ....fuck it, nevermind.

Also, remember Tania, sometimes you just have to say no-- meaning sometimes you HAVE to take the time off to take care of yourself.

Currently training two assistants to "relieve" my workload...which basically means MORE work for me to do.

A show? I had to miss out on seeing the Kaiser Chiefs last night cuz I was here until almost 11pm. I was way too tired to go. But, there's no fuckin' way I'm missing out on Arcade Fire this weekend.

I love you guys. I really do. I've become a pathetic whiner.

Yeah, there's a limit. At such times my mantra is: done is better than good. Just get some shit off your plate, however you can. Hang in there, and make sure the people you work for know how much above and beyond you've been going. See if you can score some comp time to look forward to. And Happy Birthday!

When it gets to that point, it's worth it to leave the office for a hour or so, even if that means that you have to stay a hour later at the end of the day/evening/night...

Two words. Resignation letter.

One of two things will then happen. Either they will start treating you like an actual human being or you'll be free to get yourself a better job.

Oh and don't say that's not possible because even a fuckwit like me (with the worst employment record ever - 11 jobs since '96!) can climb the employment ladder.

So...uhm...does that mean I have to stay until midnight?? Lessee, that would make it a 15 hour day. Ohhh yeah!

Dri, we're going to Fred's 62 after the show for dinner. Dunno if they sell alcohol there, but it's in the Los Feliz area, plenty of drinkin' establishments about. :)

Tania, back when I first started lurking on the CMJ board I noticed you were always the first one there to give out a kind word or extra encouragement. So, to see you burnt out like this is really sad. If there's anything I can do to help let me know. A happy Tania makes for a better Obner/CMJ.

Hey Tania, put the ol' DND on the phone and email and check out for an hour or so. Take a personal day tomorrow girl, you deserve it. The place won't burn down without you. Don't let the man get you down.
