when I left my house there was only a couple of inches on the ground and a light sleet coming down. Not nice, but no biggie.

About when I hit the point of nop return on the Tri-State (tollway), it had started coming down pretty hard. By the time I got to work, visibility was maybe 100 feet through a sideways snowfall. It looked like the parking lot had been plowed, but it needed it again.

They say it's gonna stop by noon. I leave at 3:30. Hopefully that'll give road crews time to clean stuff up so that it's not too awful. Of course, that's probably just wishful thinking.

And on top of it all, I forgot my bag with my lunch and my music (including my new purchase -- The Format).

I shoulda stayed home.

Oooooh, snow!!! It's been ages since I've seen or been in snow. Wish we had some. I could use a stay at home, snuggled under the covers. It's cold here, but not as cold as there.

They say we're getting 12" by noon.
You don't want this.

2 days ago it was in the 60's here.
You know, I've lived in the Midwest my whole life and the extreme and sudden weather shifts STILL amaze me. Maybe they don't surprise me, but it's always a big "WTF?".

I overslept, tried calling my boss to tell her, and realized that I forgot to pay my phone bill. No phone. Man, me and this work thing just aren't friends this week.

I forgot my bag at home too. It's got credit cards and my checkbook in it. I wasn't sure if I put it down when I locked the door, or if I put it down when I picked up the newspaper, so I drove all the way home to make sure the neighborhood kids couldn't walk off with it. It was inside my house....whew, but it made me an hour late for work.

We are only getting 60 mph winds here.

i was about 15 minutes late, but had no problems. i love snow. i'd have no qualms with weather like this every morning until march.

(and there's no way we're getting 12" in the city today.)

Today is hell. My employees started their vacation and I am auditing all the books.

I've already had two mild garble-macs from increased blood pressure.

On the bright side, its a beautiful sunny, warm and windy day. Colder air is coming though; I can feel it in my trick knee ('Nam).

75' when I went to bead and 30 when I woke up. I'm suppose to have the day off but I'm gonna have to go in later to get some stuff done before the weekend.

Are you biking through it? Cause you probably would have been right on time.

I sincerely hope the rest of my day goes like this and plan to do everything in my power to ensure this. Ya'll be safe driving around in that weather! I recommend a beach vacation, and will happily sign a note from home for each and everyone.

That is sad shit. If you're looking for new rubber, try those Maxxis Overdrive tires. I'm riding on them, and they're great. Also, keep your eyes peeled for locks on craigslist. I know you like shopping at Johnny Sprockets, but if you get that $20 membership at Performance, you get 10% back on all your purchases. By the time you buy a rear tire and a lock, you'll have 8-10 bucks to spend towards a balaclava to keep that noggin warm.

While waiting for the train this morning, I thought of walking back home and getting my balaclava. I look like a criminal when I wear it and it makes my hair look like I'm homeless, but damn, does that thing keep me warm...
