Really? I like it, it's an interesting listen, but I honestly can't say I listened to it more than a handful of times, if that. It's something I really need to be in a minimalist/Steve Reich type of mood, which isn't all that often.

Usually I'm the same way, but this record really hit a chord with me. I found myself listening to it at many times when normally I'd throw on something completely different. Whether it was walking to work, cooking dinner, driving to the store, etc, this record somehow could find its way into that situation perfectly. Also, seeing him perform the album twice live didn't hurt for my appreciation of the musicianship that is contained therein.

Singer/songwriter game, but Eef's lyrics make it a winner. If you like Clem Snide--that's half the battle. A lot of my friends wince when I put this on due to his voice. Don't expect though for it to sound like CS, because it doesn't. Eef is going out and writing intelligent songs to make you smile, and perhaps laugh a little. Hell, the album starts off with a song about him being a girl in a Ludacris video

Yep, I forgot about the Lambchop too...

I hate about half the stuff on this list...but these lists have a personality, and this is a great, great list.

Juana Molina #4... she deserves it.

Cool. I think one thing that I kept telling myself year after year with lists is, I'm not trying to impress anyone. I appreciate yr opinion on the list though. Thanks.

On the topic of Ms. Molina...yes, yes she does.

There's a great track from that record here:

If the rest of the record is as good as this, I'm IN!

I didn't relize any of these were released this year. Damn. What vein is the new Lambchop in?

The awesome vein. More orchestrated, imo the best songwriting he's done in awhile.

I've spun it about 10 times in the past week and liked it more each time. Wagner took the bad shit that's happened to him in the past year and put it into some really good songs. It's hard to do tragic/sardonic well, but he certainly does.

I didn't really care for AwCmon' and it's companion. Would I like this?

Hmmm...that's a good question. Both touted the strings quite a bit. This one continues in that vein, though certainly not as much, but I still think Wagner's lyrics and songwriting is better on Damaged. I say go for it. To me, and this could only be me, this is Lambchop's best album since How To Quit Smoking.

This is the only album at this point that's keeping me from posting my Top-20. I know it's going to end up in my Top-20 somewhere, but I just need CDUniverse to ship the darn thing so I can listen to it in its entirety.
