Reports say he'll get over 32 million in the deal.

This is insane. He's going to get paid double what Pete Carrol is getting.

Congrats to Bama for getting a good coach but I think this is setting some bad precedent for college football. By all means, get paid Nick but do you really want to be the A-Rod of college football?

Somewhere Tommy Tuberville just got uneasy.

nfl coaches who go back to college have notoriously good recruiting classes their first few years back, but some have speculated saban will now never coach in the nfl again. i think there's some validity to that.

Who's going to want him back? I don't see professional football taking to Saban like the NBA took to Larry Brown, Vagabond. But, I also don't see Saban taking the tide to a BCS Title. If that were to happen, though...

But, anyway, bigger dick: Saban, for flitting job-to-job (MSU-LSU-Miami (NFL)-'Bama), or Belichick, for banging every (married) milf north of Trenton?

I agree with everything and Saban is the bigger dick by a pube. Saban is a hired gun, who doesn't give a crap about anybody but himself.

I will be in Tiger Stadium for his first game back though. I'm already excited about it. I hope we beat them 60. I've always disliked Auburn and Ole Miss more, but now I have new team at #1 to hate.

as a fan of another famous college football school, i hope his career there goes shitty and Bama' regrets giving him that much money.

That is just unheard of, 4 million a year i mean c'mon.

So, do you think Alabama is full-bore into its "Nebraska, post-Osborne" phase? Storied programme, a decade (or more) removed from its last nat'l title, & grasping, but limply, at the elite level among football school... Could be.

Most Likely, And in regards to Nebraska, my brother will probably disagree with me on this, but i think Nebraska is getting ready for another round of it too. Next year will be the proving ground with a full recruitment class of NU for Callahan and with his questionable decisions i think the old alumni of NU will give him one more season.

Bama has alot of issues. Still dealing with the effects of losing the scholarships. Dillusional fans with unrealistic expectations. Too much involvement from Board of Supervisors. It's not the same SEC West anymore. Auburn and LSU are recruiting monsters in the region (thanks Saban) and very few kids even know what Bama used to be. Look at the SEC coaches now

Spurrier
Saban
Urban Meyer
Tubberville
Mark Richt
Fulmer
Les Miles

This is a terrible move in my move except for the money, he has about the same chance at winning a title at Bama as he did at the Dolphins. Shula might not have been the answer, but this basically means Saban has to win at least ten games or play for a conference title next year.
I don't see them winning or competing a NC in atleast five years if not longer, and I think that is what Mal Moore and the Boosters expect.

Nebraska wouldn't be as far behind as they are if they had not chose to go with the Callahan experiment. I think if they would have went after Urban Meyer a year before he had his BCS season with Utah and he was already a hot commodity, Nebraska would have been playing in a BCS game this year.
Alabama's probation and near death penalty experience due to some recruiting complaints by Fulmer put them in a completely different boat than Nebraska, plus the SEC West is way harder than what Nebraska is facing in the Big 12 North.

The article I read on Yahoo was filled with Huzienga (sp?) quotes that just made him look as though he knew he was beat. He doesn't seem like he's going to be an ahole to Saban in the press. Though, he certainly would have merit for it.

I mean in a business where often times owners will sack a coach without even blinking, why the fuck would anyone give Saban shit about hopping to another job that will pay him DAT COIN?!

Yeah so he said he wasn't going to leave before. So what. Maybe he didn't know exactly what the deal was going to be. Maybe he did. There is so much open lying that goes on this time of year by not only coaches but owners and universities alike. Why is anyone suprised?

I mean what you do if you were in his position? I know what I'd do.

As some people I know say, FUCK A BAG OF MONEY!

Haha, what are you talking about? You suffered through Dave Wannstedt the same as we did.

I guess loyalty isn't one of Nick Saban's character traits.
