you ever had those moments where you wanted to write about the influence a band has had on your life? I haven't. I am sure some people have though. Use this spot to share. Share Share Share. That's what we do here.

I have had one dream. Although, it was about Aerosmith and I am less than a fan of them. It was interesting though. I was at a waterslides Me and my three other friends who were in a band at the time (Aaron, you know who I am talking about). We all went up to the four waterslides that were next to each other. We stood in that big waiting pool at the top of the slides. Each of us chose a different tube to go down. Standing in front of each opening to the slides was a member of Aerosmith. I went right through Steven Tyler's legs. My bandmates all went between their own choice. Aerosmith was playing one of thier hit singles. The weirdest part about it was that in the sky was all these things that look like microscopic bacterias and such but they were enormous like dinosaur size. The sky was purple. I went down the slide and woke up.

That's as creative as it gets for me with anything that has to do a band.

I think you might need to stop dropping acid right before you go to bed.

The only thing I ever "dropped" was some knowledge on the ladies of San Jose. Booyeah.

It was an awesome dream for sure. It's better than the one where I found my mom hunched over my dad like in resident evil chopping him up with a hatchet and eating him, bones and all. yikes. I can't believe I shared that tidbit.

I have some pretty fucked up dreams, but I never remember them past a couple days. I should start writing them down. Actually, I usually never dream...I nightmare. Where are the 'threesomes with playboy models' of my youth? Damn.

I haven't done the creative writing thing, but I have done the fake interview thing:

Leno...erm...Conan: So, Dusty, what are your influences?
DC: Well, I cut my teeth on Black Sabbath, so that's where the rockin' aspect comes from -- and Iommi is the riff zen master -- but I was also into a lot of old school electronica -- Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, Synergy, Klaus Schulze, that sort of thing -- so that's where the synthesizers come from.

My first instrument was the piano...

I went to this strip club in Hawaii back in the mid 90's -- Deja Vu, I think -- it was like, "Yeah, I've had dreams like this."

I used to have dreams starring matchbox twenty members. I've spent some time with Rob Thomas. He apparently gives amazing hugs. And likes to wear fuzzy brown sweaters.

Golly Joe... not that I can think of. Are you implying that I was some sort of teeny bopper fan of the band and had posters all over my walls and wrote Mrs. Stacey M. Thomas all over my notebooks??

Dreams & music, I'm the king.

I was walking Jack Osbournes bulldog Lola thru a neighborhood I'm familiar with but never lived in. But in the dream I could tell I lived there, I knew everyone & they knew me. And I saw Dubya eating a corndog & then right after I went around a corner I saw Dubya again this team downing a frozen banana. But he wasn't the prez he was like the area clown. I tried to talk to him like "slow down & enjoy it" since he was eating so fast & he said something like, "can't talk, eating". Then there's more that involved a roomate who had a hot friend I wanted & Lola trying to crawl into the fridge. That one had me thinking for weeks.

I directed an Orbital video for the song "Oolaa". It consisted of them riding a rollercoaster with tons of symbolism I can't recall.

PIL reformed & I was the bassist. We played Glasbury & was shitting down rain & all foggy to hell as we started but it started to lift as we played & I just had this huge rush.

I was in a bedroom studio, not sure who's, doing a track with Carl Craig. It was a real EBM influenced House track a la Metro Area's "Miura".

I'll share an excerpt from a poem I wrote in what seems like a lifetime ago. I think we all have to realize that I have matured greatly as a writer. Also, I was highly suggestible during this time period. Also, I may have written it under gun point or something.

They gave me meaning
They gave me passion
They gave me life
They pulled me out and gave me myself

I've had previous dreams containing Ed Harcourt, John Lennon, Primal Scream and Joe Elliot from Def Leppard(I was 17 at the time damnit!).

I actually, no joke, had a dream about Hop on Pop last night. Possibly because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss them on tv this morning.

Todd's bowtie wasn't in it though, so I didn't see that one coming.
