So I have, in the past couple years, become a rather avid hockey fan. I am still trying to figure all the rules and such on a more detailed level. However, it is one of the most exciting sports to watch, especially live.

Wednesday and Friday the Norfolk Admirals (AHL team for the Chicago Blackhawks) a team which I have season tickets for had two games against the Hershey Bears (AHL team for the Washington Capitols). This team is a huge rival of ours and all season we have been flip-flopping in points for 1st place.

They have a player on their team named Louis Robitaille. The fans for Norfolk, and around the AHL have dubbed him Robi-turtle because he is an enormous instigator and he will start fights with our smaller forwards, many of whom never fight. He will sucker punch them or board them really hard. Sometimes he gets penalties, sometimes he doesn't. However, when our enforcers come out to do their job description (like David Koci--our 6'6" 240lb defenseman) he will immediately drop to the ice and cover his head like a turtle going into his shell.

At any rate, someone I know photoshopped his face onto a Franklin Turtle playing hockey. I decided to run with it and make a sign. Below is probably one of the best moments of my hockey going life. It is such a great shot it is unbelievable. Yes, that is me holding the sign. It was an amazing game as well

Nice. Who took the pic? Looks like they were almost on-ice.

It was another fan. It was during the pregame skate. They had, I can only assume, the lens right up to the glass on the opposite side of the ice and zoomed in.

Most excellent. Was he waiting for you in the parking lot after the game?

Also, Hershey Bears is probably the worst team name I've ever heard of in my life.

Good pic.

But Louis Robitaille is making his own poster.

true, but its also a team with a lot of tradition behind it. They're about 60 clicks up the road from me. I always want to head up there, but then the Caps are the same distance so...

Hockey = the perfect combination of grace and brutality.

Nice pic.

I have a Hershey Bears Pint Glass and Puck from my only trip to Pennsylvania. My sister won some online contest through Hershey and me and the rest of my siblings visited all things Hershey.
I'm really a fan of the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the AHL, a Calgary Flames affiliate.

Wicked cool.

Next time, Joe, challenge him to a duel!

Also, have someone film it and send me the tape.

My only guess is that this picture was taken just after I got there and I was talking to the people next to me.

before the phantoms were the flyers AHL affiliate, it was the bears. i grew up about an hour east of hershey, so we'd go to a bears game once or twice every season. those were pretty good times.
