Update from BSP's newsletter:
Quote:
And, while on the subject of live concerts, BSP have experienced a smidgen of local difficulty regarding their forthcoming North American tour. Recently, unconfirmed BSP dates were published on the website www.pollstar.com, running from mid April to mid May. These dates were released prematurely and have NOT yet been confirmed.

BSP will probably be touring the US and Canada in April and May, but the dates as published by Pollstar are still very much subject to confirmation and are likely to change with dates, venues and locations. We particularly wanted to advise people not to make travel plans on the basis of these dates

Matt, yes, they are. Though, I can't remember the exact dates, late February/early March, I believe.

This new record is really, really good. What a pleasant surprise. Very Pulp.

I can kinda see the Pulp in it. Actually, that's not true - what do you mean?

Also, Feist, the new(?) solo project for the girl from Broken Social Scene is on the bill with us.

What I've heard of the new record is fairly awful.
Certainly does not live up to the promise of the first one.

Think of "trees" by Pulp and you'll see it.

Feist is awesome live. She uses loop pedals and beats quite creatively.

yeah, i can see the sound of We Love Life in there and some of the similar, very specific pacing/songwriting that Pulp excelled at...but the emotional tie-in is lacking and i don't hear many hooks--on first listen. i'm pretty sure this could take some time to kick in.
