Fox Sports reports the Oakland Raiders are preparing to make a run at Falcons QB Michael Vick, according to NFL sources. The Raiders package would include WR Randy Moss and WR Jerry Porter plus the No.1 overall pick in the 2007 draft for Vick and the Falcons first round pick (10th overall).

where is Fox Sports reporting this?

A. This sounds like some Raider fan site bullshit

B. The Falcs wouldnt make that deal.

I heard them tossing this rumor around this morning on the radio.

Pretty sure this was born out of the "Vick is an idiot, get rid of him, the Raiders will take anyone" reaction that was going on over the weekend

Because he gets PAID to be an NFL insider by ESPN and has been writing about the NFL for 25 years. He's not a guy who has his own website complete with tin-foil hat crowd theories and ruminations.

And yes, he does use agents and GM's and front office people to get his information; so do Chris Mortensen, John Clayton, Peter King, Chris Landry and every other halfway decent NFL writer. Its what they do.

Pasq traffics in the same channels as King, Mort, Clayton and anyone else who's paid by a news organization to find the news about the sport. Working sources and connections to find out what's going on from team to team and throughout the league. If a paid journalist reports something, put stock in it. Most everything else is baseless speculation.

Someone's swallowed too much of Colbert's "truthiness" Kool-Aid. Argue if you want, but journalists (from Gregory to Pasquerelli) have a job because they've been trained in how to dig up and report information as objectively as possible.
