Somewhat interested to interested in these although Jesse Malin usually leaves me pretty annoyed. He'll have a couple of gems on each record along with some crap.

You said it. The good is really good with that guy but the crap is especially crap-tastic.

this is exactly what a lot of independent labels want you to think. safety in numbers, motivation, the ilk. while it may seem like competition at first glance, it actually helps the labels a lot to release something the same day some other big indie is releasing.

Interesting... I didn't know she did her own solo stuff. Is it anything like EBTG?

I've got a copy of the new one already. I've just given it a cursory listen, and I don't mind it. It's pleasant enough, I guess. There aren't any songs that reach out from the speakers, grab you by the hair, smack you around and leave you wondering what the fuck just happened, though.

He does have an incredibly ill-advised cover of 'Bastards of Young' on there, slowed down to impossibly dull proportions. It nearly made me recreate the video right there on the spot, only instead of the end of the song, I kick in the speakers at the first note.

See him live and I guaran-damn-tee you'll burn your records. His "Bastards of Young" cover was insufferable.

Yeah, I just went to some site and wrote down all of the expected 2007 releases I'd be interested in and I'm just not sure how this spending less money thing is going to work.

This I will buy.

Low and Modest Mouse are a big maybe.

Everything else mentioned here =
(with the possible exception of The Fall, Blonde Redhead, and maybe Wilco)

And when is that Explosions in the Sky album due out? Are people liking that one or not?
