Whatever happened to wearing a hat? CLASSY. It seems like the only people interested in bringing it back are boy bands, and that is tragic. It's time we stop dressing like teenagers. We should commandeer it, and by we I mean white men with jobs. Which, despite my best efforts, I have become. I guess I'm in charge now.

If this line of questioning is bothering anyone, I can just wait for Gar and Ayah to get here.

Not all men can wear hats well. Though, I do like seeing classy hats on guys.

I had my grandfathers custom-made black bowler in college that I wore, unironically and with great love. Being college, that thing got crushed all to hell one drunken night.

But I no longer wear hats, meself.
They should make a comeback, though... just like chivalry.

THIS IS ASSUREDLY TRUE, but i feel like it's a failure as a society and not on the individual. There are no good examples anymore.

Unfortunately, chivalry is often mistaken for 'nice guy syndrome.'

I wear hats semi-regularly, mostly in the winter...my current favorite being my black leather fedora.

Personally, I think baseball hats are the things that should be banned if you're not playing baseball. How it became such standard issue garb I have no idea. If you're gonna wear a hat, wear something a little more interesting, please.

Oh...and I don't understand the "not all guys can wear hats" thing. It's easy...put the fucker on your head.

One mroe thing, chivalry does not mean you must be a nice guy, opening the door for a chick is just a great way to get a good long look at their ass without getting caught.

Hats are a very slippery slope, my friend. I do totally endorse them though if done the right way. Give us some examples of what you are thinking.

hmmm. depends heavily on the person. see, as you alluded to earlier, its a short ride from that hat to Federline-ville. Proceed with caution.

what's your opinion on those fine hats that you always see like EVERY man in the crowd of old baseball games or boxing matches wearing?

I know. That hat's not EXACTLY what I had in mind, but it's close.

I'm not sure EXACTLY what hat you're talking about either. Is it a fedora? We need a still of a Jack Johnson fight.

worst guy hat: Madchester fisherman/butterfly collector/gardener what-the-fuck-it-was White Floppy Hat.

I'm sure it has a name which eludes me. But somehow that thing went from being something Walter Matthau would wear to being all the rage in '89. And re-popularized with New Radicals in '97.

You garden with that hat. You paint landscapes in your backyard with that hat. You don't wear it out.

Yeah, these were a little more boxy than the classic fedoras--early 20th century shit but you know what i mean. I wish I was cool enough to pull of something like this:

You mean black enough, right?

How about a boater, or a top hat.

I used to wear a baseball cap every damn day until realized that my hair is the only thing remotely presentable about me. Haven't worn a hat since HS.

My comment in the Iz thread about Bloor being Anthony Hamilton appears to be confirmed.

This hat screams Hannibal Lechter at the end of Silence of the Lambs.

I like guys in hats. Outside of baseball caps, skullcaps and other casual frat boy hats, I think a good hat is a sign of maturity. My grandpa wore a crazy wool fedora which made him the coolest old guy in the world to me.
