So I went down to this place in Trenton last night called the 449 Room. It's pretty much the only rock club left in the city and not very big to boot, but was actually a really nice place (I'd never been there before). But they were having a local bands type show and someone said I should check it out.

Most of the bands weren't very good at all. But they had $1 pints of PBR all night. Color me hammered. And I won one of the door prizes ($50 worth of rockstar energy drink). Really though, it was nice to see that Trenton hasn't totally succumbed entirely to reggaeton, or cliche classic rock just yet. Maybe I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

City Gardens shut down around 1993 when I was 9 years old. So an obvious no to that one. But I am good friends with the guy who ran the place, Randy Ellis ("Now"). He's still kicking around the music scene and such.

And since the school I go to now changed their name from Trenton State to the College of New Jersey in 1996, then you could say I've been to shows at Trenton State.

I went to a bunch of shows at City Gardens when I was younger - Ramones several times, Big Audio Dynamite, Billy Bragg and I'm sure others that I'm forgetting. I got arrested at one of the Ramones shows for underage drinking. Ah, good times.

There's a good chance we've crossed paths there, probably on several occasions. I used to catch a lot of shows at CG.

It was the same place I was the night before. It was an all vinyl dance part with a couple of other guys. If I hadn't had previous plans I would have gone for sure. But Randy is a cool dude and really knows his stuff.
