Another old school dude who doesn't get much pub around here is Johnny Ace. Pledging My Love was my wedding song. He used to monger around B.B. King and Bobby Bland until he killed himself in a game of Russian Roulette backstage during a show on X-mas day. An original monger.

Anyways, I think his Memorial Album is pretty essiential if your a fan of old school R&B and early rock'n'roll.

Never heard any Johnny Ace, but I remember hearing the story of his demise. Pretty crazy and original way to go in terms of rock and roll deaths.

Yes he is.

thanks Dana.

Untill I get this up, if anyone is familiar with the movie Mean Streets, Pledging my Love is the song playing during the scene where Harvey Keitel gets shit faced at the bar & Johnny Boy doesn't show up.

I always expected you were some kind of king hell monster, and the fact this was your wedding song totally confirms it.

A very strange voice. Very... honest, like he's up there just kinda singing at home, exactly what he's feeling.

Since people seem to like it, I'll up the rest of his Memorial Album if anyone is interested.
