I'm going out to pick this up no matter what today, but to those who have heard the whole thing compare/contrast to Tyranny(my favorite), Hearts, and Shakin'.

Thanks

Guap

I like this one alot. It seems a little long but it has a ton of great tracks. My #2 of the year so far.

I've listened to it a couple of times now.

I've never heard Tyranny of Distance so I can't really weigh in. I know a lot of people only like that album by him.

Shake and Hearts never really grabbed me but I'm liking this one okay. I was a but meh at first but I like it more than Shake and Hearts.

This song is embarassing, but it gets real good at the end.

This guy seems like he owuld be someone I would really like, but I never really get the urge to "Throw on some Ted Leo" if ya know what I mean.

Yeah, this is pretty overtly political, even by Leo standards. Musically, the majority of the record is pretty good, but as is the case with Kings of Leon, all of his previous albums are better. Such is the curse of being such a quality artist, when an album that would rank among most other's finest, pulls up the rear on your own canon.

Me and jagged are seeing him next month, and I can't wait, because that's one thing Leo does is put on a kick-ass show!

And LooGAR is right about "Bomb. Repeat. Bomb." The turd in an otherwise tasty punch bowl.

"Bomb. Repeat. Bomb." is the only song I've heard so far and I think it's horrible. I'm glad to see that it's not considered a high point of the album because I now might consider listening to the rest of it.

He's playing the Variety Playhouse March 31st.

Loog, it's a weekend show. Saturday.

Just sayin.

$15 I think.

Maybe we can work out some "girl's night" scenario so this works for everyone.

05-05 Atlanta, GA - Masquerade Music Park
05-06 Birmingham, AL - BJCC Arena Concert Hall

Atl is a saturday, bham is a sunday.

I'm a fan of the new album; its actually a little more consistent throughout than Shake The Streets.

Derris and Loog---I'll be in Seattle on the 31st which is unfortunate because our ladies all need to get together and leave us the fuck alone for a while.

I rank 'em this way:

Tyranny of Distance
Living With The Living
Shake the Sheets
Hearts of Oak

That weird-ass debut thing

I'm gonna pick this up today. Stores around here have it packaged with a 5 or 6 song EP so bonus.

huh....I gave this a few listens and was really underwhelmed, especially the songs toward the end of the cd.

Seeing them here next week. The last time I saw them, they flew through their set and were basically just going through the motions, which is in stark contrast to the times I had seen him/them play previously, when they were great. Hopefully it was a one-time thing.

tyranny is probably my favorite of his along with his earlier ep's. i didn't really like the album after tyranny but the one after that was decent. still haven't given the new one a proper listen.

I think the new one is pretty great. First listen it seemed kinda long and I wasn't really into it, but it's really grown on me in the last few weeks.

I hated Bomb. Repeat. Bomb. at first, but now I think it's a pretty rockin' song.
