...here in Chicago.
Their motto is "We Play Anything".

Of course, there's a great, big (unseen) asterik next to that which references a great, big (unseen) disclaimer that reads, "If it was a radio hit in the rock and roll era."

Anyway, they have this show where they let listeners play their "Top 9" songs and introduce them. I was picked to play the list that I submitted and introduce my "top 9" songs. Of course, the list has been heavily edited by the PM over there, because they just didn't have a bunch of songs in their "library" (read: playlist).

Still, it can be a pretty cool little station and I picked some decent songs within the parameters, methinks. Don't know the definate air date, but it will be some time next week at 9pm CDT. I'll post the link for streaming when I get a definite time.

Kinda cool.
I've been wanting to get into voiceover, so this might be a thing for me to tape as the beginning of my demo. We'll see.

Love,
Toddie

Not sure if I can disclose that (they may not play me if I do). But I will let you guess at it, given the "radio hit of the rock era" parameters. And these clues:

A couple country songs
A couple power pop tunes (the one surprise is in here -- as in I was surpried that they had it)
Some metal
One "alternative" hit that I added just for Ethan
A couple of "classic" pop tunes

And... they didn't have everything that I initially requested. So, some are seconds.

That Boston tune is timely. Nice one.

"Nine FM"
Depending upon where you are in the area, it's 92.7, 92.5, or 99.9.

Damnit. It was Monday night. Nobody from the station told me. And I missed it.
Apparently "it will be re-run" per an emailed response from the station.

Bummer.

Are you sure you're allowed to disclose that?

Damn straight.
They didn't have (or wouldn't play) a few of my original choices so, to the best of my memory, it was (not necessarily the order of play):
•Public Enemy - "Fight The Power" (radio edit, of course)
•Cheap Trick - "Surrender"
•Dwight Yoakam - "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" (after a first choice of "Guitars, Cadillacs, etc.")
•Beach Boys - "God Only Knows"
•Judas Priest - "You've Got Another Thing Coming"
•Willie Nelson & Julio Iglesias - "To All The Girls" (after a first choice of "Always On My Mind")
•De La Soul - "Me Myself & I"

And I can't remember what else, maybe Smashmouth's "All Star" because it's Ethan's favorite song. Maybe some Kinks or Nick Lowe. Some Beatles, I think?

Anyone listen?
I was kinda disappointed when I actually heard the thing. Most of the songs they played were either 2nd picks or comprimises.
"To All the Girls..." was the ONLY Willie Nelson they had! For shame.)

And my Judas Priest pick didn't air!!!
