Yeah, don't know what Gates is really like as a person, but his wife and dad have kept him on track philanthropically. Billions of dollars given out to cure diseases, third world especially.

It seems like half of the buildings on campus here (University of Washington) are named after a Gates or Paul Allen.

From all I've read, it's his wife and father who have kept the focus on philanthropy. Possibly Gates is equally committed himself now, but it's possible he wouldn't have been without their nudging
