I loves me some Hoodoo Gurus and I have Stoneage Romeos.
Unfortunately, I have all their other stuff on vinyl and ain't heard it in a while.
So, in other words:

YSIPLSTHX

Mars
Magnum Cum Louder

Hoodoo Gurus recently played in LA. I screwed up and double booked the night and only got there in time for the last two songs but it was almost worth it to hear kamikaze pilot live.

Here's Mars Needs Guitars:

Thanks.
:wanker:

And, by the way, 9 times out of 10 I do go out and buy the downloads that I actually like. So, while point is taken it is also unecessary. Especially as I already bought the record and, with fair use laws, could take the damn thing to a friend's house and burn the fucker to CD myself (and here's the key) when I have the time to get my ass over there.

I repeat...
:wanker:

How many burned CDs are in your collection?

Would have loved to seen those guys at some point.

PS - I don't own an iPod or any other type of mp3 player, so I can't take any of these things with me. It's temporary storage and sampling. Not that I have to justify myself. Just an aside.

Stop being so righteous todd. I wasn't making some grand point about filesharing, I was just making a joke at your expense and a good one if I don't say so myself.

That said, I don't have Mars Needs Guitars with me to share with you even if I wanted to. But really I don't want to....as a general rule I don't like uploading full albums that are in print and by artists that are still trying to make a living off their records. I really don't download much at all either, and never stuff that I am pretty sure I'll like and that I could buy if I want it enough.

Body language and voice tone are hard to read over the internet, Bill.
And I was thinking the same thing about you coming off as self-righteous.

No problem. There are a lot of jokes around here at a lot of people's expense. It's all good.

And I feel the same way as you do about artists making money off their still-in-print albums. I do try to buy them whenever I can. But I do like to hear them first before making a purchase. That is why when I up music, it's usually only a song or two.

As to something like this where I already own it -- without getting into too much personal stuff -- one of these days I'll be able to go record shopping with abandon, once again.

God, I used to love these guys. Well, I still do, just not some of their more recent discs. I just checked out Djangos.com, and while they don't have it, I would looooove to check it out.

The home video release Hoodoo Gurus: Hoodoo Gurus - Tunnel Vision offers an assemblage of thirty Hoodoo music videos, including "Bittersweet," "Middle of the Land," "Poison Pen," "Generation Gap," and "Miss Freelove '69," as well as sixteen vintage live performances, such as "Death Ship," "Tojo," "Leilani," "In the Wild," and "The Right Time." It also includes a documentary, "Be My Guru," that compiles interviews with band members, fans, and groupies, along with additional vintage concert clips. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

At age 2, my oldest (Cary) decided that the dials and knobs on my stereo would be fun to play with. Blew out first the speakers, then the receiver -- a 1985 Denon amp/preamp unit. Turntable still works, but I have nothing to hook it up to.

Yeah, I need to buy a new system. Some time after the guys are out of college.
