...and have to say it's pretty qual. I mean no way was I going to buy it for $29.00 at Best Buy. But I couldn't argue with $3.oo at the video store.
I must also admit that I used to be a HUGE fan until not too long ago. But this movie is less about Metallica, and more about relationships in general.
Sometimes the therapy shit gets a little much. But in this age of "reality" based shows and movies, this is about as real as it gets in my opinion.

If you aren't or never where a fan, I still think most of you would find it interesting It's very much worth investing a little over two hours into anyway. And if you are or used to be into them as I was, you can immerse yourself in the fucking like three hours of extra shit like I did this morning.

I think I'm going to pop in Ride The Lightning right now.

Solution: Buy it again. You know it's worth it. If for nothing else but coming home from a bar and listening to it top volume. Not unlike what Bloor and I have done TOO many times.

I have it in my Netflix queue. I just want to see it because I know I'll hate them even more afterwards.

I'm in the "they've really gone into the shitter the last 10 years" camp, but I'd like to see this flick. Probably wait until it's on IFC, though.

I've watched the Wilco one several times. And it's awesome, I love it. But I'm telling you this one's fucking crazy. I mean, there's a scene with Lars and fucking Dave Mustane(?) in the same room together and he's saying to Lars that Metallica was basically responsible for ruining his life. It's just nuts dude. Plus the Jason quiting thing, James's rehab stint, new bass player auditions, etc.

Not saying it's "better" persay. It's just plain good.

Oh, and it's gonna have to be a rental. It's not in theaters anymore.

Oh, and MIKE JONES!!!

Old Metallica wouldn't have let this stop them - just grab your good friend jack, rip off your shirt, and brave the frozen tundra...

Cliff would've done it.

okay i will def. watch this now, just to see dave mustaine in the same room with ANY member of the band.....

i hate to say this, but i often fantisized about how f'ing incredible metallica would have been if dave would have allowed to stay in the band.....

but then i think: would i give my megadeth for that?

answer: yes (but only if lars and james weren't such control freaks....)

Just never ask them to jam out on some Isley Brothers with you. Such will end the audition cold.

it's long as fuck (2:40), so i might not make it all the way through tonight. still, i came into it thinking that metallica was a bunch of giant douchebags and it's kind of fun to watch it be validated.

i got into an argument about this movie last night with this guy who proclaimed quite loudly that this movie just cemented Metallica's stake as the greatest band of all time or some shit like that.

i just watched it this afternoon too and now i feel tired after watching it.

yeah this pretty much cements metallica's reputation as the biggest bunch of
HOMOS!
in the music industry. that fucking weep session at the table near the end of the movie sealed it.

yeah, pretty much. it's like it's a very real movie, and it illustrates that they're real douchebags. and they have a 14 year old's control of metaphors.
