He's making his debut in LA this weekend.

What does that mean? Is he playing or just showing up on some red carpet?

I'd say people who follow the tabloids here have just as big a hard on for Posh.

FemDerris has already noted that she has been popping up in staples such as Life & Style, InTouch, and US Weekly much more often these days.

Well, now that he's an official member of the Galaxy, his (and Posh's) arrival last night at LAX was apparently one big media jerkoff.

I believe he makes his debut at the Home Depot Center this weekend.

I was offered tickets to see The Galaxy vs Chelsea game next weekend...unfortunately, it's the same weekend as Daft Punk and Z arriving into town. Any other weekend and I would've definitely have gone.

I like soccer and am glad to see a good player like Beckham coming to play in the US. But, frankly, I was watching an MLS game last night and I was about to shoot the damn TV if the announcer didn't stop tossing Backham's name into every damn sentence. I mean, I'm glad we're getting a good player over here, but all the fawning is getting to be a bit much.

That said, I want tickets for when he plays in Chiacgo 'cause I would like to see him, and would also like to see Blanco who is about to join up with Chicago. Sadly, I heard you can't just buy a ticket for the game when Beckham is in Chicago, you can only get one by buying a package of tickets for like 5 games. Guess they're trying to milk the guy for whatever they can get.

v. beckham has a show on broadcast tv coming soon--a reality show called "comin to america". <gag>

i guess this all shouldn't come as a surpise seeing as how they're tight with tom cruise

MLB does this with "premium" games -- say, the Yankees coming to town for an interleague series -- to keep the crowd from being too partial to the out-of-towners. NFL might do this as well. College football/basketball, the same. It's standard practice -- a bit hard-hearted, but I really don't have a complaint with it.

I'd be ok with it if I lived in Chicago, 'cause I'd go to a few games anyway. But, having to drive 4 hours to get there kinda limits how much I can go.

Everyone will be all aflutter over his arrival until they watch the first game and realize/remember that soccer is boring.

I want to stay friends, Tania. Really I do...

But you're right about golf. Absolutely devoid of entertainment value if you're not playing.

the last 4 or 5 holes on the last day of a major are usually pretty interesting.

oh, her PR machine is working big time... did y'all hear the "story" about her diamond-encrusted dildo?

http://www.pastdeadline.com/2007/07/la- ... n-err.html

You guys ever seen that BBC show Footballers Wives? I swear to GOD, Becks and Posh were the inspiration for that show. Dumb ass jock and vapid nouveau-riche wife with very poor fashion sense.

Yeah Tania, the Angels & Los Doyers combined to crack 7 million attendees last season. Can't be that boring.

I'm glad he's coming to LA. It's a great soccer market, but they (MLS) have never gotten a fair shake with the media here. This will force the Galaxy onto the frontpage. Well as long as Kobe keeps quiet.

Heh! I figure I'd rile some baseball fans. ;)

(PS -- I'm a former baseball fan, I just don't find it exciting anymore)
