If Obner was a state, I'm guessing Kerry would get the electoral votes. I'm just curious what the margin is, and what REAL third-party love is out there

Still at work. But it's Kerry, of course.

Hopefully, the next time I vote for Kerry will be in four years, not two.

EDIT: Wait, I think he'd be up for re-election in four years either way. Damn.

I have hope, because so many new, young, and newly impassioned voters are out there voting for the first time today - many of my otherwise slacker firends are actually getting up off of their slacker asses an becoming enfranchised as we speak.

They were part of the Sox bullpen, but weren't on the post-season roster.

David Cobb is the Green Party candidate. His VP mate is Nancy Lamarche. She's from Maine.

Michael Badnarik is the Libertarian Party candidate.

Michael Peroutka is the Consitution Party candidate.

So basically, the first is more liberal than Kerry, the other two more conservative than Bush, but nowhere near as dumb. ;)

Badnarik.

Reasons why:

1. I find Kerry to be a political opportunist with no real convictions whatsoever. I also believe that Kerry is prone to expanding the federal government to solve problems, e.g. health care. The thing is, the federal government does not have a particularly good record of solving problems by throwing money at them, and we as a nation are already taxed too high. His lip service to the evils of outsourcing and privatized Social Security are also are contrary to my desire for more economic freedom.

2. Bush is also an opportunist, and though I do not believe in his convictions, I at least respect him for having them and admitting to them. He also has not vetoed a single appropriations bill that has reached his desk, which will mean a greater tax bill in the end leading to lessened economic freedom. He is also quite fond dictating which behaviors are unbecoming of American citizens, which limits personal freedom.

3. I'm sure a number of you will disagree on this point, and I don't care. Out of the two, Bush is more favorable due to my belief that it is more difficult to remove, and less difficult to regain personal freedom over economic freedom. Over time, society has the ability to open its mind and overcome barriers to personal freedom, yet it has a very difficult time increasing economic freedoms by lowering tax rates.

4. If the Libertarian Party receives 1% of the vote in Maryland, then they are automatically eligible to appear on the next ballot, without running around for signatures or wasting money trying to get them and qualify their legitimacy. This is a very early step at making more voices heard over the stereo sound of the Democrats and the Republicans.

5. This was pretty hastily generated, and my sinuses feels as if they are filled with socks, so it may be a little off. Just a short (!) summary of my thoughts and why I chose to vote Badnarik. There are plenty more reasons, and I'm pretty sure they will continue to surface in our discussions.

Kerry. I'm a Democrat, damnit. You can play lip service to voting for the man, but it has to be an OBVIOUS case for me to buck up and vote for a Republican. Like say if McCAIN were the candidate.

I didn't read all the posts so this may have been covered.

Is Kerry popular in New Hampshire? I thought, generally speaking, that all of New England was very democratic, yet on ABC they keep saying that this is a big swing state? Just curious. Here in Wisconsin it is more polarized then I have ever seen it. Wicked either for or against each candidate.
