I've had that Black Keys record all year, but just started playing it properly a couple of weeks ago. Good shit.

I love a band that can mine the same cliche and still come up with something pretty fucking good. One of the hardest things to do.

Totally fun powerpop/punk that I put aside and now will probably be Top 10 for me.

I'd agree with that Black Keys, too. Great album.

Easily this Raphael Saadiq album. This is some top notch stuff that I somehow missed all year.

If Amy Winehouse hadn't already mined this territory so successfully last year this would've been one of the biggest albums of the year.

yeah completely agree. Actually that Saadiq has a shot to be my number one of the year just on the strength of "Big Easy".

Probably the new Mercury Rev, which I was completely oblivious of until some of you pointed me in the direction of them. I really dig it. It'll make the 20 definitely.
