Have I missed anything big? Recent things I've been digging:

-Top Ten, Season 2. I love the way this book reads, and I think it goes a huge distance that 2/3 of the creative team is still on it after Alan Moore left it. This was one of my favorite books (discounting that "Beyond the Farthest Precinct" garbage) and I like the way it's headed. I think Gene Ha is gone after this arc, though.

-Superman: New Krypton. I've always hated Superman stories, but this one has read incredibly well so far. I can't see how it can fail with Rucka/Robinson writing it. No idea what to make of what's happening back in Metropolis, though.

-Back To Brooklyn. I've been on the fence with this since the beginning, but holy shit that last issue made it worthwhile. I love it when people let Ennis just run with it. Between this, Punisher: War Zone, The Boys, and Battlefields, he is in his prime.

-War of Kings. I know nothing about almost any of these characters, except the ones that used to be in X-Factor. Still, this has read well and I might have to start reading more Abnett & Lanning.

Stuff I'm losing interest in, fast:
-Green Arrow/Black Canary. The book is sputtering.
-Fables. James Jean picked the right time to leave?
-Batman? this shit better get lively quick.

What'd everyone think of Final Crisis? How's Dark Reign going? I'm enjoying the Thunderbolts so far, but it's all gonna come down to the New/Dark Avengers faceoff.

I'm really far behind on this stuff (I actually just read the last issue of Secret Invasion a few days ago - blech) so I can't really comment on most of this. If it weren't for Jonathan Hickman writing some of this Dark Reign stuff, I'd probably be ready to give up on Marvel again. Looks like I made a mistake not picking up Agents of Atlas or staying with Thunderbolts, but oh well.

I will say that, having just read the first two volumes of Fables, I really don't get what the big deal ever was. Does it get much better than those?

Looks like I need to check out Battlefields and Back to Brooklyn.

Thunderbolts has promise, but it could go both ways. I still don't know who most of them are. There's the blonde Black Widow, Ant-Man, Ghost (?)... and some other people. I like Diggle enough to keep reading, though.
Agents of Atlas I know nothing about, but people are hysterical over right now. I just see Rocket Raccoon and pass every time.

Fables gets really, really good. For awhile it was one of my favorite books. Supposedly, Willingham was going to call it quits after a certain event, but now has decided to keep going. It really shows from the first issues since the end of said event. The first trade isn't great, and the second sets up groundwork for how good it gets later on. I dunno, maybe try to download or check a library to see if you're interested in teh rest of them.

the only thing sorta new that i've really liked is haunted tank.

i missed the first ish of back to brooklyn so i haven't read it but i'll probably pick it up eventually.

i like thunderbolts, mostly because of diggle. though having some new blood on the team is cool.

i'll probably only stick with avengers/dark reign to see what happens when the teams fight it out. i'm glad marvel boy is being used.

i'm really behind on everything else except a few that are must read's for me (boys, the sword, dmz, punisher, iron fist, daredevil).

Back to Brooklyn is pretty good but the art is fucking awful. Battlefields is terrific all around.

The new GI Joe's have been solid.

Four Eyes #2 came out a few weeks ago and Kelly also has Bang Tango and Bad Dog out right now. Haven't read Tango yet but Bad Dog was pretty nice.

Dead Irons is fucking awesome. Insane art.

Locke & Key, Gigantic and The Mighty are my favorite new reads. Umbrella Academy is fading just a tad for me.

I have Four eyes 2 sitting on my hard drive and I still haven't read it yet. Mostly because I can barely remember what happened in the first one. I liked it, though.

It sounds terrible, but I can't pick up Umbrella Academy because of that shitty band.

Shiv, a good friend of mine's brother was just written into the Punisher story set in Philly that's going on (Six Days to Kill?). Anyway, he's the lawyer named Cavalier. In real life, he's a lawyer named Cavalier.

i kinda don't want to get wrapped up with the new series (time and money) but i may have to simply to see what Larry Hama is doing. also to check out the movie tie-in prequel. can't wait for free comic book day.

I don't think I've ever read an issue of Walking Dead that didn't actually make me say "holy shit!" out loud.

That was some crazy weird shit, right? I mean, even for Grant Morrison. Maybe weirder than Sea Guy. I think my understanding of it was a little impaired by my lack of DC Universe knowledge, but nonetheless part of me is surprised that a major comics company signed off on this as their big event.

I liked the second issue of Four Eyes. The only other new series I've been buying is Jersey Gods, which is this weird/fun meta-Kirby thing that has 2 issues out so far. I really like Incognito so far, too.

I agree it was pretty crazy even for Morrison and the abrupt cuts to different parts of the story didn't make it any easier to follow. I still enjoyed it though and I think it will read better when it is collected and people don't have the wait between issues. Superman Beyond #1 and #2 are pretty essential to understand the last issue so I am glad they will be included in the Final Crisis hardcover.

I just finished reading Starman Omnibus Vol. 1 and hopefully I will start Vol. 2 later today. I also just read almost all of Incredible Hercules so far (all but the Secret Invasion issues) and that series is way better than I expected. It's a really fun comic.

I haven't been to a comic shop in a while because I moved recently but I think I am going to one later today to see if I missed anything.

jesus christ Ennis is just off his leash. I think he might've actually lost his fucking mind some time ago. Still, awesome.

for the life of me, I'll never understand the Flash. I like the idea of a comic book rooted in classic sci-fi, and I love the way they use the rogues, but when you have 40 villains who are all fast, things get confusing.

Still, I liked Johns bringing back Green Lantern, so I'll probably give this a shot. Although there probably won't be any badass Green Arrow moments in this mini...

i really love scott kolins art.

you might well. It's pretty fucking brutal, and Garth Ennis has a mind that most horror movie writers would be terrified of.

That weird concoction of humor and gore, and you find yourself laughing at some pretty horrific shit.

I can't remember how many parts it is, (9?), but 4 or 5 issues or out.

I think most are still on my HD if you wanna check them out...
