I heard Something in the Water on the KEXP, and I dug it. I've been listening to it on myspace and liking that too.

http://www.myspace.com/thehenryclaypeople

Didn't find the album on the world wide web.

Also if you're too lazy to check out their myspace, here is what the band lists as their influences: Neil, Gram, Pavement, Westerberg, Creedence

Weird to see them between Gram and Paul as influences.

I like their sound though. Definitely interested in hearing more.

I'm pretty sure anyone who likes american indie rock like Pavement also listens to The Replacements and almost certainly Gram Parsons.

I downloaded a track of theirs a few months ago and remember liking it, but not enough to seek out more. I'll revisit.

That was my exact thought.

This is pretty good, sort of piano based reg rock.

Strangely, Tanner, I find it to have a lot in common with The Format - the guys voice, the piano, the sort of full stop rhythms...

This will be in heavy rotation for the next few weeks, I am sure.

'This Ain't a Scene' is pure Tom Petty. Liking this so far, especially all the PAVEMENT influence on here. Sure takes me back to '91.

Also reminds me a little of Ike Reilly.

Yeah, I can definitely get behind this comparison.

They're always on the edge of shambles but, when they pull it together, it's pretty golden.

This is sounding pretty damn fine while in random play while I work. Seems like the citing of Ike Reilly/Format/Built to Spill is all about the fact the dude sings in a relatively frail, high register though, because the music doesn't sound much like any of 'em.

And "This Ain't A Scene" chugs along like sheer reg rock bliss. This goes to the top of the class for "albums that should've made my top 20 in '08".

There's one floating around somewhere. I think Kingfish is the holder of the key.
