The Blue Box Blue Note's Best

Really nice 4 CD overview of Blue Note records going all the way back to 1939 and all the way up to 1993. So yeah, it can be a bit convoluted. But, Blue Note simply has so much excellent music, it inevitably contains lots of great stuff. Anyone could quibble with which tracks they should have selected, but overall a slew of amazing tunes from some of the greatest names in jazz and an excellent overview. Good for someone curious to check things out, but with enough great music that any fan will be able to just hit play and enjoy. Hard to go wrong with any collection that includes Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Lee Morgan, Dexter Gordon, Stanley Turrentine, Horace Silver and on and on....
