Just had this surgery a little over a week ago after 30 years of wearing glasses/contacts. Overall, I can't complain. It's great to see even better than I did with my glasses or contacts. Only thing is, still having the haze or haloes in major contrast. I've been told that it will probably go away, but I'm a little concerned. Wouldn't take it back, though.

I had this done in the early days (9 years ago) and am still 20/20. I had problems with the halos as well, but it did improve--not completely, but not disruptive and definitely better than contacts. I wouldn't change a thing.

It's on my back burner list, but I don't have any real compelling reason to go through with it. My eyes aren't bad at all...I don't really mind wearing glasses most of the time...Rather spend my money on dumb shit.

Give it time, it'll pass. Hell, I made FemDerris wear her "goggles" at night for a week so she wouldn't accidentally rub her eyes.

She had it about a year ago. Best decision she's ever made. She wore contacts but had some serious coke bottle glasses going on and her vision is perfect now. Doesn't have to deal with contacts and solutions, etc anymore.

One of the great developments in modern science IMO.

My glasses aren't enough of an inconvenience to prompt me to laser-scrape flesh out of my eyeholes.

I don't mind my glasses anymore, but would consider this at some point...

See, the magic here is that YOU aren't doing it. If that were the case, I think I would have passed, too.

I'm opposed because I don't want to see the end of boys in glasses.

I'm in this camp. Glasses don't bug me.

I just went to the optometrist a few days ago and she was not so gently nudging me towards surgery because I only have one bad eye that would benefit from the treatment and relieve me of my glasses. I opted to stay with the glasses for now and hope to move to a monocle at some point.

If it were a do-it-yourself procedure, the success rate would probably be much lower, especially after you did the first eye and lost all depth perception.

I had it done about ten years ago. I'd worn glasses since I was in the first grade and my astigmatism had gotten bad enough that they couldn't correct enough for it that I would have been able to legally drive with my contacts. They were able to correct me to 20:20 in one eye and almost 20:20 in the other. I had some haloing around street lamps at night and after swimming in chlorinated pools. That went completely away with time though. The only long-term side effect is that my eyes dry out much quicker, especially when I'm boozing. I can deal with that for all the benefits. Ten years later, one eye has gotten worse but I still able to see well enough with both eyes that i don't need any correction.
