I think it's time for a new watch. Where should I look for a nice, clean, classic design? Maybe a little retro? Silver frame and band?

Any ideas?

Those are kinda cool, but i'm more into the classic round face.

i.e.

I've had this watch for years, and still like it a lot, but the strap is fuckered, and I can't find another that fits properly:

skagens are light and the metal band doesn't yank arm hair.

Checking these out on ebay now...

Also had a look at Nordstorm. Some nice stuff, but mostly $275 +.

the fossil philippe starck ones are pretty funky

in general, fossil makes some well designed and not horribly expensive watches.

My Skagen is similar to this one but with a leather strap. I love the ultra-thin face on it, feels like you're not wearing a watch at all.

I've been thinking of picking up a Skagen for a little while now. SOLD.

With cell phones aren't wrist watches sort of superfluous?

I've never worn a wristwatch since I find them annoying but used to carry around a pocket watch. Haven't done that in years though.

Over 20 years I have lost 2 tags and 2 raymond weils, I have resigned myself to never own a watch over 100$ again. I've got 2 freestyles I've owned for 5 years, 1 sport, 1 dressy never had a problem

Not what yr looking for, but I wear one of these in my day-to-day:

Image

the color isn't actually that horrible in real life. Its actually a much darker baby puke green. Its great. It comes with a HR monitor strap for when yr running, and it easily receives the bike and running monitors that Suunto makes as well.

I'm pretty rough on watches throughout the day, so getting a nice watch just isn't in the cards for me right now.
