How serious are you all taking it?

Will you be getting the vaccinations when available? And for your children?

We might have to get the shot because if we pass on inoculation workman's comp won't pay out if we get sick.

If the government told me they had some nano robots they wanted to inject into me, I would probably do it. So yeah, I'm getting the new flue shot if it becomes conveniently available.

Isn't Swine Flu it's most potent to individuals in their early 20s to early 30s? In essence, for a small child it's just gonna be like a normal flu, but its kill rate is more in adults?

Normally I'd just ignore it but with a baby at home, I'm not sure that's a good idea this year. I've never had a flu shot and am not personally worried about this one but definitely don't want the little guy getting it.

I got a flu shot for this reason: its not about me anymore and the pediatrition said we should get them. Easy enough.

As for H1N1, apparently there's a pretty huge outbreak of it in this area; my wife will definitely be getting it but I'm not sure if I will just yet.

I picked a bad time to start riding the subway again. May have to do this.

As for the swine flu shot, unless your area is somehow different than around here, good luck finding one. Our area ordered 1000 initially and received 600. Hopefully this is just temporary. They are giving them to healthcare workers and kids in schools first. Who knows when the average Joe like myself will get one.

Kids are supposed to be more susceptible to H1N1 than adults. I'm thinking of getting the "regular" flu shot, which kills WAAAAAY more people than H1N1. Haven't had one since at least 2004.

I am pretty sure I had it last spring. so there ya go.

A friend of mine caught it 2-3 weeks ago. He was absolutely miserable for 10 days. I usually don't consider getting flu shots, but I might take them up on this one. I had west nile a couple of years ago--it lasted two weeks, and I lost more than 15 pounds due to dehydration/nausea. I don't want to go through that again.

15 pounds and 10 days off work. sign me up.
