It's version 9.0.2 I think. It just came out.

I've got an 80GB Ipod classic that is not showing up in this new iTunes. It's about 2 years old.

I did some googling and found lots of discussion about some issues with older Ipods and this new version. Some serious stuff like file corruption, etc that has rendered many useless.

Anybody heard this or had any issues? If so, how did you fix it?

This is why I never immediately update my itunes when they become available.

Yeah I haven't updated in over a year or so but I just got an iPhone
and had to update to register it. Now my iPod won't sync.

Yeah, my 80gb 5th Gen classic had troubles with whatever iTunes update happened in August or September of last year. I don't know if the problem ever fixed itself, because I viewed it as an opportunity to upgrade to the ipod Touch. My recommendation would be to downgrade iTunes. Either that or hope that they issue a patch soon.

Bummer. You've probably searched, but I think at one point someone posted up a website that hosted all the previous updates. Also, when you updated, did you do so with QT? That usually screws things up. If you did, retry it without the QT attached.

Microsoft should do a Zune commercial parody of the PC-Mac commercial with the hip kid and Bill Gates making fun of iTunes.

Not what you want to hear, but I'm also running the latest iTunes version 9.0.2.25 and run an 80GB 5th Gen and it's doing fine.

Have you done an iPod reset yet? (Button lock on then off; hold up arrow and center button simultaneously).

If your iTunes library and iPod are fully synched (no tracks on one that aren't on the other) you may be best off doing a full reload of your iPod.

I'm a huge fan of Smart Playlists (both for listening and managing my library) and am not aware of anything that comes close by other tools so consider myself hopelessly assimilated into the iTunes cult.

Haven't really tried any sort of resets yet. This just happened last night and after reading some horror stories about iPods crashing etc, I put up this thread. I have no problem reloading. It's high time I did that anyway.

I have over 140 GB on my Itunes so I have lots on my Itunes that aren't on my iPod.

I'll try again tonight and if I can't get it to sync up then I may try to reset. Don't really want to do that though as it takes FOREVER to load up an 80GB.
