I was thinking the same thing about the inclusion of The Dark Knight. Batman Begins, maybe, if you want to give a nod to the genre (though really X2 is a better big budget comic book flick), but TDK is not a good movie.

I like each of the top four, but not sure I'd specifically put them there.
It's not a bad list, but clearly shows why I haven't seen too many films during the latter part of the decade.

I like 25th hour a lot, but no way is it the second best film of the decade.

I'd have put Eastern Promises on the list over A History Of Violence.

Weird list. Some movies I really like. Good to see Yi Yi getting recognition lately. But I thought Two Towers was the worst of the LotR movies and AI, really?

IIRC I only saw 3 or 4 movies on a "Worst Movies Of The Decade" list, so I'm ahead, I guess.

I thought Wall-E was a bit overrated. Same with The Squid... if it's on this list - though I didn't dislike either of them. I thought Kill Bill Vol. 2 was better than 1. I have a bunch of these on dvd (which is saying something, my dvd collection is laughably minuscule (esp if only counting movies, and esp. esp. if compared to my music collection).

"City of God" at #40?? Ridiculous.

"Eternal Sunshine..." is more overrated than "Titanic". Kinda how I feel about Gondry in general.

Still, some great, great films on there. Great decade for movies. Especially international films.

Nice to see "The Man Who Wasn't There" get some love.

Eternal Dogshit of the Indie Mind.

25th Hour is a fucking fantastic flick. Easy Top 5, and I have no problem with it being #2.

I think a bigger quibble could be made with including things like Wall-E, and A.I.

Children of Men is WAY too high. Its OK, but nothing groundbreaking or seriously noteworthy. And, Adaption is as bad or worse than Eternal Sunshine.

I don't mind "Eternal Sunshine" being on the list, but no way at #1. "Adaptation", on the other hand, shouldn't be anywhere near that list. The fact that even got produced, let alone lauded, is enough to send me into a fit of extreme violence.

And the fact that that list has an irredeemable piece of shit like "A.I." ahead of both "Pan's Labyrinth" and "City of God" shames the compilers.

Actually, the more I ponder that list the more pissed off it makes me.

"City of God" is probably my personal #1.

As a neuroscientist, I appreciated the Eternal Sunshine from a neurocognitive perspective, and not as an affective story. I don't understand the reactionary stance against it.

I thought everybody loved the Departed. Is it overrated? I haven't seen it yet.

i'm a little surprised that I've seen Memento near the top of a few best of decade lists. It's not a bad movie, but repeat viewings doesn't do it any favors.

When I initially saw the two films in pretty quick succession I thought No Country was much, much better but I recently saw just the last 30 or so minutes of TWBB and was thoroughly entertained. The scene in the bowling alley is priceless.

Also, how the fuck is Traffic not on this list?

No Irreversible. I'm a little surprised. Not my favorite movie by a long shot, but it stirred up a lot of chatter from what I remember. I guess that'd be like another Memento.
