they did well with this new album. actually, the production on it is fucking great. everything separated nicely, very clean. the playing is great too. their arrangements are always interesting to me.

people can hate on these cats all they want, but they write some great music.

That's where I read it. I guess living in Malibu does not = famous. At the time I read that article I figured the pic was Elizabeth Shue but she's too old now and anyway it could be anyone.

Not to say that it's a retread, though. There are change-ups-- two straight-up ballads, a warped reggae track, a sprinkling of AutoTune-- but the overall vibe remains enthusiastic and unafraid.
