Can anyone hook me up?

Pre-Millennium Tension and Nearly God would be greatly appreciated, too, if anyone has those. I'll be searching for links on my own tomorrow, but if anybody could actually upload any of these that would be way better.

(I purchased Maxinquaye twice, but one copy got stolen and the other one is damaged and unplayable. Also bought Pre-Millennium Tension which was also stolen. Never owned or heard Nearly God.)

Thanks.

Sweet, going to grab Maxinquaye. I have all of his other stuff, but have never really listened to Maxinquaye which is a bit stupid I guess because it's supposed to be the best one.

His last album was really good. Highly recommended.

I've been meaning to make a Tricky mix for some time now.

Is anyone interested?

Yeah, especially if you focus on cherry-picking the best parts from his later albums.

I'd also be interested in hearing Knowle West Boy. I'll be looking for it, and if I find a good link, I'll post it here.

I think Tricky's post-Maxinquaye output gets unfairly maligned. I can see why people think it's his best, but his other releases are not night and day different qualitatively the way I often see people seem to believe. I mean, that album got praised to the heavens and after that he was roundly trashed in many circles. Seemed to me more than his music getting that much worse, styles came in and out of favor and he was left in the cold.

I mean, even stuff like Angles with Dirty faces gives you something coherent and interesting and at least as daring as Maxinquaye. And the most recent couple all have at least a few tracks off them as good as anything he's ever done. Even the cash grab Blowback features quite a few interesting tracks.

But yeah, a compilation of his stuff where you can go in and cherry pick the cream of the crop off his later albums would really be a good way of showing that he never did crash so hard as many seemed to want to believe and almost everything he has done has a cohesive feel to it and seems to evolve pretty naturally from where he started out.

The funny thing to me is the last one got the best critical reception of any of his later records and I really don't see it. I mean, it is another solid record but for me not even particularly stronger than something like Juxtopose or others that got trashed. Again, I think it is more a case of styles coming back around than his work changing so dramatically.

I really like Blowback, which got terrible reviews.
