I searched and didn't see a random thread for December yet...

I know jack squat about motorcycles, but this little short film was pretty awesome.

custom motorcycle engineer shinya kimura @ chabott engineering, directed by Henrik Hansen henrikhansen.net, shot on the Canon 5D and 7D.

Yeah that's awesome. The custom builder scene in Japan is huge. There are ton of crazy builders out there now, also in Australia, Austria / Germany, and some decent ones in the US that don't build fucking boring choppers.

i recently saw this at a Canon seminar. i own the Canon 7D, so it was really inspiring to see what can be done with it. they also showed a few BMW commercials shot with the 7D that were mind blowing.

Definitely dig the Japanese customs. I think its because a lot of the builders are into eras I'm into myself. Wrapped exhaust pipes, flat black paint, no chrome. Oh yeah.

You ever check out bikeexif.com? Some incredibly beautiful bikes on there.

Nope. Just from browsing, it'll be added to my list of blogs to read weekly.

These caught my eye:

Not to mention the Ruby helmets. Oh man.

It's 90% crack, 10% cruiser crap. I get a stiffy for a lot of the old ducatis, 80's japanese racing bikes, and cafe conversions.

I got robbed.

My house was broken into sometime today/tonight before I got home.

As far as I can tell, everything stolen was replaceable, but feeling pretty shitty right now, anyway.

Burglars left some blood in some places. Not sure what to do about that. Tried calling the police department # on the card the officer gave me, but it's just about impossible to get anyone on the phone. I'm sure they probably wouldn't do shit with it/about it anyway, though.

Sorry to hear about that. Dang. Glad no one was home when this occurred though.

Shit man. I've been there and it sucks.

Happened to me over the summer. Worst of it was my laptop - moreso the stuff in it that was a bitch and a half to recover - but thankfully they didn't do any real damage to the place. File the police report for your insurance. When my friends' place was broken into last year they actually had some luck recovering stuff at pawn shops and such, but Austin's PD seems somewhat unique in the resources they devote to robberies.
Aside: the robbery precipitated my move to my new place, which I love. Dunno what your situation is, but sometimes upheaval can bring about some kind of greater good down the road.

Best of luck.

Yeah I remember when you posted about that.

Fortunately the laptop that was stolen from us didn't have anything important on it. The only thing with data on it that was worth anything was the Wii - just a bunch of stuff that was downloaded on it. No big deal. I've got the serial # for that (registered online), and probably for the PS3 and maybe even the TV. None of that shit really bothers me that much.

It's that some one broke in through the large front window of the house and walked out with my shit through the front door. And I have really good neighbors across the street and next door who generally keep an eye out for stuff (next door neighbors weren't home, I don't think). I never expected anything like this to happen here. I guess we're getting some kind of alarm system now and maybe even burglar bars on some of the windows. That'll look pretty ghetto, though, and probably piss off the neighbors, but I don't know. I feel like we can't leave our house now.

Me, too. But I strongly suspect that this would never have happened if there was at least a car in the driveway. I get the distinct impression that this happened because it was obvious that no one was home.

Cowards Sank The Deficit Plan

Interesting take: I don't totally agree with everything Mr. Avlon is selling, but I agree with his premise 100%.

Plus, calling out shit birds is fun. Fuck those people. Someone should primary hensarling and Ryan for the fuck of it.

I find the "Barry always sits on the sidelines" criticism interesting. Its like he's president Sonny Purdue: here's some ideas to consider, but since my predecessor was really heavy handed, ill just let yall figure that shit out.

It is creeping up in enough arguments from people of all stripes that it's either true, or perceived as true, making it true.

My bet on the culprit is your next door neighbors with the killer dog.
