I was waiting for OPA to make this thread, expected it sooner.

I already have 58 releases somehow. Though probably more than half are just techno singles and I've been deleting stuff left and right.

LPs for now:

1. Nicolas Jaar - Space is the Only Noise
2. Charles Bradley - No Time for Dreaming
3. Ducktails - Ducktails III

I got a bunch that I've only listened to once that i like a lot though.

Admittedly, I would have listened to more albums if it wasn't for the Destroyer album, which I still listen to on a daily basis. I'm absolutely obsessed with Kaputt.

I need to spend time with that Akron/Family, Iron & Wine and possibly Dolorean.

I've been digging Wanda Jackson, Destroyer and DBT.

Agree, good record.

The James Blake record is tops for me!!

Destroyer, Iron & Wine, Bardo Pond, Shilpa Ray, Young Galaxy, Devotchka, Earth, Akron/Family, A Hawk & A Hacksaw, Sic Alps, Hercules & Love Affair, Matthew Friederberg are all tied for a distant second.

I have listened to two whole albums and a split 7" so far.

So it's

01. DeerhoofDeerhoof vs. Evil

and a distant

02. Sic AlpsNapa Asylum

The split is Women/Cold Pumas/Fair Ohs/Friendo. It's pretty good. I like the Women song ("Bullfighter") a lot, naturally.

Fuckin' Sic Alps, though. I think we had a thread years ago about bands you've listened to a whole lot but never really liked that much. They definitely fit that bill. This is probably their best album so at least they've improved a little, but it's still totally underwhelming.

I've only heard the below. I guess my order from favorite to least favorite as of now would be as follows:

1 Smith Westerns - Dye it Blonde
2 Destroyer - Kaputt
3 Nicole Atkins - Mondo Amore
4 Over the Rhine - The Long Surrender
5 The Decemberists - The King is Dead
6 Cut Copy - Zonoscope

Just DL'd that David Lowery so I'll be spinning that one today...

I like all these to some degree, but nothing that has blown me away really. The Der TPK is probably my favourite of the bunch.

The Dirtbombs - Party Store
Der TPK - German Reggae
Earth - Angels Of Darkness
V/A - Under The Covers Vol 2 A Tribute To The Nerves
Sun City Girls - Gum Arabic
Konntinent - Down With Candy
Malibu Wands - CHDW
Æthenor - En Form For Bla

Sic Alps, Smith Westerns & Deep Sleep have headed to the recycle bin.

Agreed. It's good for what it is. But what it is is second rate Animal Collective.

Destroyer - Kaputt, a bizarre hold on me and I'm not fighting it
The Phoenix Foundation - Buffalo (fave new found band, Kiwi bands always find a way to my heart it seems)
Papercuts - Fading Parade . . they're on a good run for me and this could top previous efforts, mood essential listen

liking but needing more time to listen to . . .
Toro y Moi - Underneath the Pine (goes slightly organic)
Cut Copy - Zonoscope (This has got some deep rooted aussiness to it in some of the tracks)
La Sera - La Sera
Secret Shine - The Beginning at the End
Smith Westerns -Dye it Blonde . . .hanging in there but not grabbing me fully et

really not digging so much . . .
Ducktails (is this same dude from Real Estate?, if so I guess that's why)
Low Anthem - Smart Flesh . . . I should like these guys, not working for me
The Babies . . . thought it'd be better, some good tracks
