Two decades after its network demise, Twin Peaks fervor has once again gripped Los Angeles of late; most recently in the form of this month’s In the Trees: Twin Peaks 20th Anniversary Art Exhibition at Clifton’s Cafeteria in downtown LA. All manner of the cult show’s eccentricities were on hand, from the slavish near-worship of coffee and donuts to works by Lynch himself. See the pieces, online, here.

In an act re-affirming the Internet is indeed your friend, the folks at Root Strata blog converted the show’s companion audio book “Diane…The Twin Peaks Tapes of Agent Cooper” into digital files. At 42 tracks the ephemeral set is comprised of Agent Dale Cooper’s spoken notes and observation’s into his handheld cassette recorder over the show’s two seasons (plus some extras). My boss when I first got this job thought instead of typing my own stuff out I should use a tape recorder and just dictate and give it to one of the secretaries to type since he always does it that way. I tried it a couple times but stopped when I realized I couldn't not call the recorder Diane and I think it offended the secretary who had a different name.

Never saw a single minute of this series.

the first season is amazing. The second delves into wackiness best left buried beneath the floorboards of the black lodge.


Still, I loved hearing this. Then I put it on my ipod and quickly began hating it.

i ignored this show when it first aired, caught the finale only because my dad was making brownies and i was waiting and had nothing to do.

I have the book of Laura Palmer's diaries, and the soundtracks (somewhere).

dude, when she was in her prime, back in the twin peaks days, she was one of the hottest chicks ever

sherilyn fenn and young nubile heather graham weren't far behind, either

that show was chock full of young hot babes

The pilot still stands as some of the best television ever. How the series ever became such a cultural phenomenon mystifying to me.

The soundtrack is by far the best thing about this show.

Love it. In honor, I am about to listen again.
