I heard Bass Drum of Death's "Heart Attack Kid" last night on XMU. Cool song. Reminded me of BRMC's first album (very JAMC-ish). First I've heard of this band.

It made my ears prick up a bit then I remembered that it sounds like a not as good version of older, much better bands.

God, I'm so depressed, it's the end. You might think pushing 40 types like me are just cantankerous old twats moaning about how things aren't as good as when I was young but actually I've devoted too much of my life to music to want to see it die, I wanted more than anything for Bass Drum of Death to be better than Jesus & Mary Chain but they just aren't. You know that, I know that, everyone knows that.

Rock music is exhausted. It had a 60 year run, we proved that prick Frank Sinatra wrong, but the now it's our turn to step aside, the end is neigh.

If I was Bass Drum of Death, I'd find a crocodile and place my head in it's open jaws. In fact I might do that. Better to be touched by the Genius of Death than expire by reduction.

Googling to see if Edinburgh Zoo has crocodiles.

(Note the band name on this custom-built job. But, it was the first thing that came to mind.)

I picked up their album at the store the other day. Listened to it once through and it's not bad. Kinda Black Keys/Japandroids though more noisy/less melodic than both of them. Thanks Kingfish.
