On last night's Parks & Recreation, both Jeff Mangum and Neutral Milk Hotel were repeatedly referenced.

Weird.

That's right indie rockers. Your subculture has been assimilated.

This surprised me too. Then I heard that NMH fans are the target audience for this show.

I'm sure Aubrey Plaza actually has considerable sway as one of the writers of the show and she is pretty hip. But yeah, cringeworthy

i may be off base here, but these days, it seems to me that arcade fire has infinitely more widespread/mainstream name recognition than neutral milk hotel

I would like to see TEH OBNER go all "Fire Joe Morgan" on a Parks & Recreation script.

Do it. Do it!

What's going on with all the posting from TEH OBNER? Semester just ended at whatever college/university you attend, & you're waiting for your internship with the League of Conservation Voters (read: hitting that progressive ass) to start, & needing something to kill the time?

I thought that was right out high-school, for TEH OB, but he only lasted a semester there.

He's prolly at Lake Forest College or Illinois College or Illinois State, or something.

I didn't show up to a single class outside of food history which was me paying 30 bucks and eating for free at restaurants.

dude, i understand the essence of teh obner and the spirit with which your wisdom is dispensed

youngest kid turns 9 in august

oldest is 16

divorce is final next month (within days of the 19th wedding anniversary)

new gf is 14 years younger, half a foot taller and a good 40-50 degrees less frigid than ex-wife

other than residing several dozens fathoms below the poverty line, life is good
