who's ready? Wolf Creek already opened up this past weekend.

just picked up my new babies (50% off!) yesterday, and i'm chomping at the bit to try 'em out:

it will be an adjustment going to 95 underfoot after 11 years on my old X-Screams, but i really can't wait to get these suckers off piste.

funny how ski's have changed...in the past two decades i've gone from 205 straight ski's, to 188 sidecut's, and now to 177 on these mid-fats.

Wow. That's early.

Nothing's open here yet (not even close) but I'm ready to go.

Don't ski/snowboard, but Timberline out in Davis, WV got snow/accumulation a few weeks ago. That's pretty early for them. I live next door to a ski shop and they've been crazy. Guess people are thinking this year is going to be good.

Mammoth had snow last week but I don't think they are open yet.

How is that Jonathan Wilson? He played in Jackson Browne's band along with all the guys from Dawes when I saw him during the summer.

it was a first listen, and at 13 songs/80 minutes, it was a lot to take in. but i was definitely taken by it. seems pretty similar to Dawes musically (who i am now just checking out as a result of reading about his involvement with that band - i'm always late to the party); vocally i was reminded more of George Harrison though. actually the album reminded me a lot of All Things Must Pass while i was listening. i definitely heard enough good for a few more spins.

It's raining here today and my wrist is killing me...the wrist I broke 10-11 years ago snowboarding.

I haven't been in years but I'd like to start going again when the kiddy gets a little older. Big fun.

...in the 70s all weekend here.

I have never, in my life, skied or boarded. The paperwork is going through to kick me out.

The Southern VT could really use a good snow year, though, so I guess I'll hope for that.

My Subaru is dying and since I don't make my own cheese, partake in ski resort activities and won't be a Subaru owner much longer my Vermont citizenship may be taken from me. VERMONT LAW.

You'd better start growing out that armpit hair, stat. Between that and all the rescued animals you should be able to build a case.

i won't start dreaming about it until i'm forced to – when bikes and racquets are brought indoors – but i look forward to another winter of frequently skiing the towering escarpments of ontario... ironically, the thing i miss most about montreal was its winter: proximity to laurentians, eastern townships, vermont, upstate ny, and quebec east.

Ah yup. I reckon that might be true.

One of these years I'll get back out. I did recently apply to a job at a mailorder company in the field.

It'll be fine by January.

Where are you planning to ski in Park City?

Canyons and Deer Valley for sure.

we won't have a car, but either Alta or Snowbird are a must.

i've never skiied anything up Big Cottonwood Canyon, so maybe Solitude or Brighton. we'll see where the snow is.

i wish they had a road open in the winter to access these places easier than driving almost all the way back to SLC.

Boarder here. I still need to get my season pass. A-Basin opens tomorrow, really contemplating ditching class and going.

The local hill is making a snowboard halfpipe just like the one they will use in the Sochi Olympics. I look forward to killing myself in it.

Ahem. What the fuck is going on over there Marco????? It's been equally dry up in summit, though the season started with knee deep powder for me down at Wolf Creek two weeks ago.

It's ugly, man.

December 2011 had the least snowfall in recorded history here. I haven't even been up yet.
